Am I the only one who couldn't care what our ranking is? So many people seem overjoyed at it, but we didn't even play this week to earn that ranking. At this point in the season, the only number that matters is the one in the "Win" column.

Being ranked is pretty good for week five of a multi-year rebuild.
I'm not positive which teams were involved, I believe it was Alabama and Ole Miss or Mississippi State, but I remember a time in the last couple years when they used both. They used the Coaches poll to show Bama as #1 (when they weren't #1 in the AP) and used the AP poll to make another SEC school #3 or #4. They don't even try to hide it

They've always used the AP poll ranking for television until the BCS or the now playoff rankings are released halfway through the season.
