I can't believe Illinois Hokie has 100% guaranteed that Jerod Evans is going to win the Heisman. Bold, but risky.

The small things make the difference in a small gain and a big gain, or in this case a TD. Cunningham makes sure to cross the face and cut off the pursuit of the LB in his route. This slows him up getting to the flat to get to McMillan. You can see him bend and twist a little to get his shoulders ahead and then turn up field some to cut off his momentum. This is likely part of the play design as Cunningham never really looks back for the ball, but it is executed perfectly.

Lamar Jackson is awesome, but watching them run shows how much better Vick was. Jackson doesn't look fluid on his cuts, they're kind of choppy and half the time he looks like he's about to fall over. Vick looked like he was on ice skates.

New install, same concept and everything, just new install, different ways of running stuff to make sure we can put up points."

I think that quote from Evans is the key. Concepts are the same, just new plays and new twists on basic plays they know. I think that makes it a little more digestible from week to week.

What I like about Evans so far is that he isn't trying to force anything. He goes out there and does what's asked of him. He's not trying to win the game on his own. I think his decision making has been excellent considering he is three games into his D1 career. I'm very excited for the future with this guy, I think he will be on our Mt Rusmore of QBs when all is said and done.

I just hope he leaves with rings....championship rings!

Read this in ESPN this morning, Andrea Adelson article. I always call UM scUM for a reason. They are low class representatives of a quality University. From APPY State Color Guard member.

"Miami's football team decided to blindside one of our members on the corner of the field. She was shoved by several very large, intentionally aggressive, football players. No apologies were made regarding this incident, and the member who was hit had severe pain and had to sit for most of the game. ...

"Leaving the field, I thought that this was the only incident that occurred. It turns out that several other members were groped, sworn at, taunted, and touched in ways that were definitely not asked for."

Oh yeah, every week. Every week we go into the gameplan differently because different teams throw different things at you.

Every week is a different wrench in things. New install, same concept and everything, just new install, different ways of running stuff to make sure we can put up points.

I'm not. Apparently they do new installs every week. It didn't seem to hinder them against BC.

Hope we are much better prepared for the jump ball/lollipop throws than we have been the last two years. I'm hoping we play a lot more zone and they aren't as prepared for that.

I'm interested to see how he holds up against some of the better ACC defenses.

And no, I'm not convinced thus far that FSU has one of the better defenses in the conference this year.

FSU All American LB blew his ACL trying to match a MV7 cutback in the Sugar Bowl.... It wasn't just slow plodding DLinemen that he made miss........

Apparently some people think I'm crowning him the Heisman winner after three games. I guess you can't be too specific when trying to make statements like this. Let me clarify:

If he maintains a completion rate in the high 60s, keeps his TD to INT ratio at anything approximating 10:1, and his YPA continues to climb as it has over the first three games, then come late season, his name will be brought up in conversations about who deserves an invitation to New York. Along the lines of, "Well, what about Jerod Evans of Virginia Tech? Look at what he's done this season." Since there was zero talk about him having that kind of a season coming in, that would make him a darkhorse candidate.

And to be as clear as possible, your name coming up in the conversation without being on anyone's radar going into the season makes you a darkhorse candidate, by my definition. I'm not saying he's going to be in contention to win the Heisman.

We're not good enough yet to wear these. Give it a few more seasons.

Maryland drivers sound a lot like Florida drivers. Just bizarre stuff. My favorite was how medians were merely "optional." There's a concrete median there? No problem, just drive over it in your Honda Civic, scraping the bottom the whole way.
