That 3 and 1 was particularly interesting. We get that and things could have been
a good bit easier. Too bad to see those unexecuted blocks.
The other thing was missed tackles. Seems like we were in good position
but couldn't come down with them.
Great write up as always French, lots of hope and promise. It will be interesting to see if the coaching staff can cut down on errors and get us through this season above .500

It was as though they already felt the game slipping away. As the lead evaporated, the Hokies fought harder and harder to gain that extra yard or physical advantage. But in doing so, they made back-breaking, careless mistakes that caused them to sink deeper into the quicksand.
This was it, right here. Panic and doubt crept in. Coach Fuente said as much in the halftime interview on the way to the locker room. I don't remember the exact quote, but it was along the lines of, "They've already proven they can do it. Now they just need to settle down and believe it." And that quote is exactly where we are now.
We've suffered our share of blowouts over the last few years. This is the first one I can remember that doesn't leave me despondent that our woes are schematic.

I absolutely did not pick up on the alignment you mention in the last clip.
I'll have to keep an eye on that.

I'd also add that I think Evans was the best QB on the field. By no means is he Cam Newton, but he's tough and I'm excited to cheer for him this season.
Nice write-up. Only thing I disagree with are the "perfect passes" that beat Stroman. To me watching them back a few times Stroman was in great position but it seems like he is almost fighting TG's technique about playing the man and not the ball. Both balls I felt he could have made plays on but instead reverted back to trying to play the man, which were just better/bigger athletes than he is.
The view for the coaches from the coaches box was something new for them. They may not have picked up on everything like usual.

Ok, I've sucked it up and have watched most of the game so far. One play that stood out to me at the game and more so on tv was one that didn't happen. It was about 2 or 3 plays before our 11 yard punt. Shi motioned out of the backfield to the right and headed down the sideline at the snap. Bucky was running a short out to the right sideline and caught the pass for about 5 yards.
But what caught my eye was that just beyond Bucky, in the same trajectory was a wide open Shi. No one had picked him up, and on tv you can clearly see that the safety had already started coming up to help in coverage on Bucky. If that pass had been a little higher (or if Evans had seen him and led him) that would have been an easy touchdown. If I saw that I know that the coaches did, why didn't they ever run that play again and get the ball to the running back?

University of Richmond had a great opportunity to capitalize when they built the new stadium, but I think its only 12,000.
Do what you normally do to insert a photo. Then before you post, click just before the > and type
height=XXX width=YYY
Where XXX and YYY are the pixel dimensions. One more caveat, you want to keep the same ratio. I usually just open the picture by itself in chrome and it will put the dimensions in the title bar (say, 1920x1200). Then I'll just divide each by a factor. So I might do
height=240 width=384>
If the picture is 5x too big.
If the picture is on imgur, ignore the above and just add one of the following letters before the .jpg to get the desired size
s = Small Square (9090) as seen in the example above
b = Big Square (160160)
t = Small Thumbnail (160160)
m = Medium Thumbnail (320320)
l = Large Thumbnail (640640) as seen in the example above
h = Huge Thumbnail (10241024)
So picture.jpg becomes pictureh.jpg and shows at 1024x1024

No, it's better to have the rule remain so that no matter how you disguise it, it is still an illegal Receiver downfield.
The defense has to know whom to cover and they can't get blocked when they are on their own line of scrimmage.

From what I saw, against a bigger receiver, he has no chance of high-pointing the ball and beating the receiver to it. His only hope is to basically do what the Tennessee defender did to Ford on the underthrown Evans throw: catch the receiver coming down and rake the ball out. Unfortunately, in this case the receiver is simply too strong and already has a firm hold on a perfectly-placed ball. As French said, unless Stroman magically grows three inches, this play was over when the ball left Dobbs' hand.
