Hot takes abound. We will be fine. Realize UT had 2 TD drives of less than 10 yards. That will kill your shot at winning football games. We lost by three scores and literally handed them 2 of those. Everyone needs to take a step back and realize this isn't the end of the world. Fumbles are correctable.

I'm not excusing the fumbles. They're inexcusable. But as you watch this game, it's obvious that they're happening when the ball carrier is fighting for extra yards. Right now, the skill position players on O are trying almost too hard to adapt to the new scheme. They just need to settle in, secure the ball, and carry a ball every damn place they go this coming week. This offense will slow down for these players the more they play in it, and unfortunately you can't simulate game speed. They have to learn how to do this live, and right now they're too into their own heads.

The deal with the snaps just has to get fixed. When we take 95% of our snaps from shotgun, that snap needs to hit Evans in the chest every damn time. Vance Vice needs to address that yesterday.

The scheme is awesome and im excited. We gave away a game tonight, but even after that loss all I can do is dream about what it will look like when we are firing on all cylinders.

would you rather fumble then go three and out consistently on conservative play calling for 2 1/2 quarters? or keep going with what has been working and conserve time on the clock by going fast even with the fumbles?

When 0-0 happened my expectations were so low that was kind of a joke. Tonight we came out with intensity and purpose and when the first negative thing happens we crumbled. This team is not disciplined or mentality tough, it hasn't been in a long time. Fuente has a lot of unfucking up to do.

I actually think we look promising, minus the insane fumbles. Work on protecting the ball and we can win 8-9 games this year.
But dangit...

it's game 2 of Fuente rebuild and he produced 200 yards in the first quarter. that has me excited.

what doesn't have me excited is how our defense consistently gets shredded by mobile QBs. People can say it happens to everyone but it happens to us ALWAYS.

anyway, wish we could have won. if only for Hokiegirl's sanity.

I've never been so encouraged by a blowout loss. I hate the game went this way after such anticipation, but you can see glimpses of what this team can be.
