"Does that count as current success or future success with recruiting high profile players?"
Don't care so long as it is CONTINUED success with maintaining his commitment and actually signing him on signing day.
Lowered expectations was a MAD TV bit. There was a 5 year period where everyone who was funny left SNL to make movies and $ where MAD TV was consistently better than SNL.
There's always some animosity between the TKP and 247 forums...mainly because TKP seems to be a little bit more of a homer site and 247 seems to be a bit more pessimistic... which is cool TKP is run by fans for fans... 247 is more of a paid service....
But what I'm getting at is, despite the animosity, 247 is IMO the best gauge for talent. They really seem to know their stuff when it comes to recruiting. They have a lot of scouts working for them that are great at attending camps across the country and they update their rankings/scouting reports pretty frequently compared to other services.
I'd love to see Vinny Mihota lock down the d-end spot opposite of Ken Ekanem. You don't HAVE to be able to consistently get pressure on the QB to be a starting caliber end in the ACC. Containing on run plays is equally as important; Mihota is probably the most skilled d-end on the roster in that facet. I understand Bud wants to turn the dogs loose but let's not kid ourselves...we don't really have the talent RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE to turn the dogs loose so lets utilize what we have to the best of our ability.
But for some reason when it flashed to Tyrod on the sideline is an image I always remember from it.
Hey me too
Was just about the say the same thing. I'm sure it's just a coincidence...
Still vividly remember him running all the way down the field to shake hands with the Nebraska QB after he knew we just stole one in '09
Thanks! I really enjoy your articles breaking down games & plays. And the good banter.
So you're saying that Big Tim sacked a Cornhusker?
Glad to see Stroman is packing on some lb's. Feel like his size limited him at CB so far
Should we expect any more commits before the season starts? its been a good week for VT football
Or DT-OL, DE-OL, TE-DE, ...
Probably good to figure that the margin of error is likely around ~1in and ~5lb
Don't be a stranger once the season rolls around. Always nice talking football with the OSU folks that found their way over here.
Hooker is 4-star talent straight up. He was the top QB on Notre Dame's board and Brian Kelly told him to his face that he wouldn't take another QB in his class if Hooker committed. Then Hooker picks VT and Notre Dame grabs a 4-star QB from TX. Again, the offer sheet is just as important and Brian Kelly had Hooker on par or ahead of a 4* himself....
No. And 247 crystal balls show 4* Devon Hunter as a heavy VT lean. He is in Blacksburg today. They also rank him as the #1 recruit in VA. Obviously there is serious speculation about 4* Capehart right now too.
They are all tweeting/re-tweeting each other which again goes to show that big time recruits do talk and do influence each other to a degree.

Side note: I always thought vet was veteran. Tech actually has a high vet school!
I may be a Buckeye, but as a football fan & veterinarian, I've simply got to order that shirt! I got the email notice of it being sold and wandered back over here. I see you guys are doing well - pumped up about what Coach Fuente can do for VT. Hope we see each other in the playoffs!
West End should be open then. Some pancakes and London Broil and they'll be good to go.
I have plenty of practice, even for the few years I've been one.
I see a pro wrestling stable, not four football players.
Ugh, you picked right up on my trap!
...Hilgart is still working with them. Manneguin heights and weights won't be released until after they report for camp...

AND special teams...while we still have them
