Just another reminder that we hired good coaches, not good recruiters. I'd much rather have that than the reverse, but its damn expensive to get both. For anyone that thinks we'll turn a corner recruiting once we start winning games again needs to remember our recruiting budget and recruiter track record. It just isn't happening.
Hope "VT is still my leader!!" remains true and hopefully HCF can add some recruiting clout with some W's this season. It's very easy to forget he hasn't yet coached a VT game.

Any suggestions on great places to fish in the NOVA area?
Went with my roommate to fish in the Potomac (Fletcher's Cove) but it's too crowded for my liking and all we were able to catch was shad. It was fun, but I like to be able to eat what I catch, which I wasn't allowed to keep the shad.
Just looking for something that's not as busy as the Fletcher's Cove area but still easily accessible and novice fisherman friendly.
EDIT: Forgot to add that it would be nice to be in an area where a majority of the fish aren't regulated and I have a good chance of bringing something home. The fiancee still thinks I spent a bunch of money on fishing gear and won't ever catch anything with it. Evidently, throwing them back doesn't count.....according to her.

I think we can all safely assume that David Wang is the first Hokie No. 1 Overall pick since Michael Vick? I think some congrats are in order.
I rewatched that clip, and he really doesn't throw into double coverage much at all. There are maybe 2-3 where he got lucky, but for the most part, he does a good job finding the open guy with single coverage. Granted, these are highlights and JUCO film, but just going off of what I'm seeing here.
I agree that the reads are simple, and I think Fu's offense will definitely involve more simple reads in the passing game. That allows the QB to make faster decisions and push the tempo offensively. I'm really excited to see more of what we have in Evans; his running ability and proficiency running this kind of a fast paced option run attack is pretty exciting.

I definitely think we won't have a "Motley package" by any means. Both will be prepared in the full playbook. From what little we have seen, I just think Evans can and will execute at a higher level given his skill set. We will see how it plays out in camp.

acknowledging these are highlights and the passes are quite Kilmer-esque, but count the number of times Evans throws into double coverage.
there doesn't seem to be much that Evans is being asked to do in this film in terms of complex reads and patterns and I doubt it will be much more complex than that with Fu this year.
