I was saying drawing conclusions from one game is a terrible way to guess how a series will go. And all these things go both ways.

I've recently come to the conclusion that no school (including our own) is 'clean'. I don't know that there's many kids getting cars or getting 'salaried', but I'd wager a decent sum of money that any student athlete who plays a revenue sport in a P5 conference has the ability to get a couple hundred bucks under the table if/when they need it.
Obviously, criminal activity is something I want far away from our team. I would be ashamed if a Baylor situation or a UF/Urban Meyer situation happened here, but if it came out that a booster was giving Tyrod a couple hundred dollars to help pay his mom's electric bill, it wouldn't tarnish my opinion of Beamer in the slightest.
I don't think Harbaugh is being a hot head - I think he's intentionally trying to create news for his program. It's kind of a win-win for him. Best case scenario, he establishes pipelines to schools in the south. Worst case scenario, he's viewed by recruits as a player's coach, and he extra air time on ESPN (which is also a net positive for recruiting).
Who in the world are you saying is elite then? Alabama? Ohio State? How do you account for teams with massive budgets that can't win the "elite" games like Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame, or USC? You can't just pigeon hole your criteria till it only includes teams that support your arguement.
They have both been in the top 5 the last 4-5 years so I don't know what your definition of elite is

since 2000 split 4 BCS/playoff level bowls all of which have come in the Dabo era whereby they have spent twice what VT does on recruiting year in, year out. They are trying to punch above their weight and almost pulled it off last year, but are not winning elite games consistently.

It is wrong until the rules are changed. There is no grey area in that. Is it just? That is debatable.
Just trying to shut down a rumor mill that immediately fired up when Bill left. Several people made comments about his personal life that were out of line back then; I want to avoid that happening again. Indeed, many factors go into anyone's choice of job and location. That's all that needs to be said.

The point is, there's more things that go into these decisions than VT vs. UCLA, and LA vs. NC. Glad to have Bill back closer to home, and hope he is well.

Now they are actually focused on building through US Soccer run academies with proper coaching. Klinnsman's results haven't been what we wanted, but he's helped change the culture of US Soccer from the ground up.
Can't find the link, but recently read the article how the soccer culture in America is really only improving in the white middle/upper class demographic (similar to golf/tennis, but not nearly as extreme). If the US wants to create a legitimate grass roots soccer movement, they have to find a way to appeal to all demographics, the way football, basketball and baseball do now.
I'd ask that everyone avoid speculating on anyone's private life.
given how meh both paraguay and costa rica looked, in a game mind you where the winner would have a stranglehold in the group I actually feel decent about the US chances of advancing.
