Not that I agree with Moorehead, but the kid blaming AMO for his decommit wasn't entirely honest. It was widely expected that kid was never going to A&M, especially after the QB had decommitted. Sure lots of bad press for A&M and Moorehead, but the loss of the recruit wasn't unexpected before the tweets.

Just stop. Words mean different things in different contexts. In recruiting, "commitment" means "intent". Move on.

Kids make can't make contracts. (Well they can, but it's not enforceable until they turn 18 AND they reconfirm the contract made as minor).
Nevertheless, the comment was reflecting on the verbality of a statement, which many people believe cannot be binding in any circumstance. For the most part, verbal contracts are just as enforceable as written contracts. Houses , $500+ consideration, marriage, and others being exceptions. (Wikipedia on the statute of frauds, if anyone actually wants to know when pen to paper is actually required.)
