I'm not sure those will become the standard helmet but they do look great.
If anything, this just adds another venue to the arms race.
The ACC changed their rule today, and the SEC has said they will by May 29th.
There are no more conferences that outright ban them so it is more or less a wide open playground for all of Division 1 now.
As I understand the VT Compliance Tweet it only applies to camps being run and organized by the big school.
No reason Fuente or Bud couldnt be Celebrity Guests though at say a UCF or North Texas Camp though.

# | ODU to Host Penn State, Maryland and Michigan in June; Coach Wilder Said He Would Call Coaches Fuente and Mendenhall to Attend But I thought it was the esteemed opinion that ODU was garbage, and they were literally Hitler for hosting camps?!?
If only VT were a big school with potential and money left on the table to take advantage with proper management and leadership!
Not sure that is really translatable that easily. One of their biggest issues is that they fall distinctly in a talent gap. The "elite" FCS recruits wouldn't go there because they are FBS and perennial losers, and the FBS recruits they want won't go there because there is little attraction and they are perennial losers. But by moving down the thought is that they would be more attractive to a better crop of recruits at FCS level, who know they will only play at that level. Thus they would likely be a better team and program at FCS.
Of course that's the idea, if they can actually do it is another thing altogether.
Yes, because what we really need is more free exchange of camp benefits and cash from big schools.
You know. For the kids.
Yes, because the SEC doesn't have money for camps.

I'm really excited that the stripes on the helmets are staying. I love those.
On another note: congrats to Paxton Lynch, and his former coaches Fuente and Cornelson on getting a first round slot!
Well done Jeep!!! Who knew a motor vehicle could have mad word skills. Must be a Hokie!!!
What I like about new scheme is that with the same personnel group we can move a pounder back, a scat back, or a wide out into an h-back, tailback, or flanker/slot position. And run the ball from any of those positions, with any of the personnel. Not to mention QB1. That kind of run game really stresses the defense in so many ways. It could be a wham block from SR45 with a McClease scampering in behind or a jet sweep to a speedy WR off the same backfield action. It's really every linebacker's worst nightmare. Your keys don't take you to the ball and your brain starts tripping up you feet.
So I think the idea of RB rotation might not even be comparable because of the completely different ways RBs are used in the two schemes. My guess is that the division of carries at Memphis was as much because the ball went to many more different positions than because a different RB was rotated in. I just think we are in for something completely different this year and I can't wait!!!!

Leading the opposition to satellite camps were the ACC and SEC, which had forbidden their coaches from attending such events. But with Thursday's overturn by the Board of Directors, both conferences will no longer prevent their coaches from traveling to camps.
Wilder said he will invite Virginia Tech and Virginia, both of which have new coaching staffs, to Norfolk.
This is what happens when you're on the football blog of a school of engineers
Every conference now allows them. However without some kid of rules and oversight this is about to get out of hand fast.
Am I doing this right?

Ergh! Somewhere in this thread I posted about there was a time when slavery was the law. Were those who were slaves able to work towards changing it?
Yes, I know what you are saying and basically I agree in this case. But bear in mind, and maybe you already do, it is not an absolute because that's why you said work towards changing it. Look up Jury Nullification and see how it has been used in our country's history for more on that.
These camps are a good thing for literally everyone except the conferences that don't allow them. Don't want other schools 'poaching' VA recruits? Win more games
Need one in Pennsylvania and one in Georgia.
I don't know why we go to ODU we already host all the 757 players at Tech. Let's go out-of-state Texas Florida somewhere where they have hundreds of D1 level recruits that maybe slip through the cracks everyone knows who all the big names are down in the 757
Deja vu? I'm outta here!
FL, GA, TX, LA, SC
Sauce?

Don't forget that the Pac12 rep and one of the group of 5 reps voted the wrong way.
