I'm not sure how to feel about Mendenhall. I don't expect him to be Mike London levels of bad. He's actually had a pretty decent track record as a coach so I have to expect UVA to improve some. And clearly the fan base is extremely excited (they had OVER 5000 in attendance for their festival!!!) and it sounds like the players are excited too. Joking aside, it does seem that he is breathing a little bit of fresh air into the program. I just hope they fall flat on their face despite his best efforts and never truly recover. I don't think anything would make me happier than seeing UVA continuously fail on the football field until the end of time.

UVA is probably (and it literally disgusts me to type this) going to be good at some point. They're a premier state school in a state filled with football players, with a great campus, ahem, grounds, and it's honestly a testament to bumbling that they've managed to stay bad for this long.

I mean, they've been under us for the better part of a decade and a half now. By the time we win in 2018 we can officially move to claim Adverse Possession over the UVa football program, after having owned them for the requisite 15 year period as stated in Virginia Law.

Seriously though, if Mendenhall doesn't turn things around for them, they might not ever seriously recover. And really, that wasn't exactly the kind of hire you make when you want to instill confidence in the fanbase that you're looking to seriously compete on a national scene. Just a lot of ugliness up there. Glad it isn't us

A tablet for selfies/videos that VT uses for social media. Ekanem, Rogers, et al. were using it during season ticket delivery a while back.

The running game didn't produce many huge runs and things often felt a bit ugly, but when you looked at the scoreboard, the offense had put up 30 plus points and you kind of wonder how they did it.

So true. That Ole Miss game felt so scattered and all of a sudden they had over 35.

Bradshaw definitely had the most noticeable game of the WRs. From what I've seen, Fuente loves how Peoples blocks so I'm excited to see a lot of him. The QBs definitely left some big plays on the table though. If that gets cleaned up we could have a great offense a lot sooner than people think. Surprised that I only remember seeing one or two back shoulder throws. Saw a lot of that with Memphis last year. Tougher throw to execute so I guess that'll progress as the qb/wr bond does.

Viserys died because he didn't have the will of the dragon inside him. No matter what he would always be burned be fire. That is different than Dany, and potentially Jon and another... maybe Tyrion?

I agree it's harsh as well, but it's just my honest view point of where he's been and where he is now. He has shown some moments during his time at Tech, but as a 5th year Sr. and the possible starting QB, he ought to be looking like outright leader on the field and he sure as heck doesn't show it.
These 2 offenses are not that starkly different in principles and he STILL looks like a borderline Fr/f-Fr out there. Just really tough for me to really get behind and support a QB who has decent experience under his belt but still looks like a deer in headlights. Remember, Motely was supposed to be THE guy a few yrs ago and then MB12 showed up. And all MB needed was a few weeks in July/Aug. to beat him out. My view is that we'd be completely wasting a year on incredibly mediocre r-Sr. QB when we could be developing a younger player that still has time remaining. Give him his due and give him the first series or 2 on Senior day, other than that delegate him to hand signals.

It's funny to see a college player going off like that, because he's the one who chose to go there. It's not like UVA just started sucking after he got there. The evidence was already clear.

And I'm not saying he would have come to VT, but there wasn't any other school he looked at that got him more excited?

Thanks for the write up French. Shame there's no film, but I can understand Fuente and co's position. With that being said, I'm just thankful we don't hear the word vanilla every day like Loeffler's first season.
