Overall, solid start. But Thorne's reasoning was shite. At least in the books, Snow was killed because he actually violated the oath. According to the show, his killing was less morally ambiguous.
I guess I'll chime in too.
Glad they at least tried to get consistency across all sports. That being said, here are my thoughts on the football uniform updates.
1) The collar is big, but it seems like they were trying to incorporate the pylons logo, hence the shape and size.
2) They should have outlined the numbers. I don't mind the font change, but having the edge contrast would set them off better like it does on the other unis.
3) Stripes. I was hoping if we had to keep stripes, they would actually be like the ones on the mens' basketball unis. Double maroon stripes on the sides of the whites, or double orange on the maroons. Or a tight maroon and orange (whites) or a tight white and orange (maroons) like the womens' basketball unis. Lose the shoulder stripes.
4) Like the numbers on the sleeves. Maybe on the shoulders with VT on the sleeves?
5) Hokies over the numbers on the whites and Tech over the numbers on the maroons would have tied things up with the other sports.
6) The maroon helmets with the stripes are okay. Would have liked to see the maroon done like the orange ones.
Hopefully, this will only last a few years and we can get a complete refresh once the current sucky Nike contract is up.

# | Justin Fuente's Offense Sputters in Spring Game, Despite Handful of Bright Spots Had an absolute blast this weekend in Blacksburg. Brought the fam and it was my son's first trip to Lane. I agree with most of the comments/sentiment on the way the offense, QBs and defense looked. OL played well, especially in pass protection. Overall positive, and with that many guys out with injuries on both sides of the ball, it was great seeing what some of the new guys were all about. Regardless of outcome, this is going to be a fun team to watch this year. Hard to not get overly optimistic, but man, we have some weapons.
Postgame, when they let the crowd on the field, was awesome. Even better were the amount of players who stayed and signed autographs, talked to fans, and genuinely enjoyed people. My son is totally taken with Batman these days, and wears his cape... everywhere. Even on Worsham Field. It was a great "in" as players took the time to talk to him, and make his year (and mine). Got to chat for a quick sec w Lawson, Motley, Fox, the two Kish OL twins, among others. Everyone was really approachable, but the two that stood out to me were Trevon Hill and Tim Settle. They are two special guys, on and off the field. They remind me of Eddie Royal back in the day.. He was so stinking nice off the field, you wished nothing but the best for him on it. Trevon scooped up 'Batman' and held him high in the air without missing a beat, and Tim offered to let my son hold his helmet. Both of them engaged everyone. Very proud of the type of men that are on this team, and makes it even easier to root for them. Big Tim even changed his Twitter pic today (@tim_settle) to him and my son, so my wife is a Settle and Hill fan for life, regardless.

I'm ok with the jerseys. Originally I was upset that we retained the stripes on the jersey but it is what it is. My freshman year was 1999 so those Vick jerseys will always be my favorite and I bet some people who were there for the Tyrod years probably feel the same about those jerseys as well.
I would like to point out we will have an alt jersey and if we start a resistance now maybe we can bitch and moan enough to ensure that the alt jersey doesn't have the stripe.
I would also like to point out that in that official VT guideline to the rebranding they mentioned our secondary colors were black and a few different greys a la Hokie stone I believe.

Gentlemen staffers of TKP. I cannot laud your good work at mocking the joke that is UVA football enough. Goodness knows they arent gonna keep this rivalry alive by fielding a competitive team to keep things interesting, so your work is paramount in maintaining a well rounded interest in college football throughout the commonwealth. Between the commonwealth cup article and this one, Ive gotten the best ab workout Ive had in years thanks to your good work. Thank you again!

After being a lurker for a long time on this site I made the plunge yesterday and got my approval this morning. I am looking forward to seeing our recruiting pick back up. I have followed it for a long time but being on Twitter has been a game changer for me in terms of information. I hate to date myself but I remember when it was hard to find anything on recruiting even in the Roanoke Times.
And how many attended the rowing championship? I'm guessing attendance would not change if you had to be family to get in.
