Mitchell seems like a great teacher. I'm sensing lots of INTs by our CB this coming season.

I fully expect our defense to struggle this season. We lost Kendall, Facyson is still banged up, Ladler won't be ready to contribute early because of his knee injury. So the defensive backfield is in about the same shape as last season, and that was the cause of most of our defensive woes. I don't see a massive one season turnaround in the cards.

Only the 10th practice...ten ...on one hand you can count the number of practices.

HokiesFB posted a video from this evening. The OL had Conte at RT, Gallo at RG, Tyrell Smith at C, Someone in blue at LG but looked like Teller, and Osterloh at LT. Evans was QB and Shai at RB against the #1 defense it looks like. Interesting OL arrangement

"If you run around it, you are making the lane much wider."- Brian Mitchell.

I wish he had been there to yell that at Dadi and Luther last year. Take on a block and SQUEEZE. I hate when defenders try to run around a block.

Stroman did much better on the other play. He stayed square, kept outside leverage, and held his ground. The runner had nowhere to go.

Also, another theme is Deablo's blocking. Each practice, he has made me notice that he has good size, good technique, and engages and stays on his block. That, by itself, will get him on the field in Fuente's offense. The skill guys MUST BLOCK or he won't play them.

Ok, here's the deal: This video is "mic'd up". It's not about the DBs or the receivers, it's about Coach Mitchell. He won't have much to say but praise when a player does something right. In order to show his coaching style and teaching moments, they have to show his players doing something wrong. Don't sweat what you see here, we are seeing what we are supposed to see.

I mean ...it is practice. That's where people are supposed to make mistakes so they can learn? Plus it's spring. Only the 10th practice...ten ...on one hand you can count the number of practices.

Spring game. Okay. I think that's fair
.
But yall can step back from the ledge from practice.

...You can pear over the ledge, peak it's direction maybe, but don't hope over the fence just yet.

Well, if you visit The Sabre they think bowl game this year National Title next year. They are all in over there, thinking that they made the better hire and that this years Commonwealth teams are evenly matched, etc., etc. They fully anticipate an epic turnaround this season.

Yes. You can be professional but still be fun. This is an excellent definition of professional in this instance.

I regularly live tweet my commutes and use of a netipot.

Come for the #hottakes, stay for the dog pics.

I don't mind it. He's calling attention to the most successful alumni of the program. He's building excitement for the program. That's the job of the VT twitter. He's not there to give factual statements, He's there to point people in the direction of VT news and to give snapshots of the programs past, present, and future to fans and potential recruits.
