guess his groin is kaka....i'll see myself out

Depends how good you feel on defense. Syracuse actually played good defense and Pitt's PG James Robinson made a tough shot. If he misses, Syracuse likely runs down the court and tries to get a 2-pointer and force some contact to at least get to the free throw line. It can be hard to come back by fouling a good free throw shooting team.

the failure of LVG at United is surprising (but very welcome to a Liverpool fan) as he's been a success at most of the places he's been (if not all). It wasn't so long ago that he took AZ Alkmaar to the Eredivisie title. I don't know anything about them but that's a tremendous accomplishment. He also turned Ajax into a force (er, more so) in mid 90s with a young team that dominated the likes of Barcelona and the great Italian clubs (my how things have changed, huh?). That's always been the Spuds problem, show flashes of greatness then fark it up good and proper, and it usually takes them the better part of a decade to get back to relevance. The job Pochettino (sp?) has done there is remarkable, they're at Bale levels within a couple of years, wish LFC would rebound like that after the sale of Suarez.

All LFC/Hokies have to be truly excited now though...Klopp and Fuente. I'm chuffed.

I didn't see the game, but just looked at the play-by play. When you're down 68-70, how the heck do you let Pitt burn 30 seconds (from :53 to :23)? I gotta think you have to foul in that situation. Maybe they make both, in which case at least you still have the clock. If they make one, you're still within one score. Miss both and you've got clock and possession. Am I missing something here?

Certainly is a small world. I was at Saddam Int'l/BIAP that morning too, but on the other side of the airport. I was with C co, 2/7 INF, 1st BDE, 3ID. The infamous picture of the blown up civilian airliner may or may not have been done by us. SFC Smith was a true definition of a hero that day.

I've been wondering about which outcome would be better for us since we lost to Syracuse. This makes sense though. Hopefully Pitt stops choking now.

1 reason to be cheering for Pitt right now. It's not a blowout anymore, but a win is a win

Yes, I've seen the national anthem clip a couple times recently ... but wasn't that months ago? Is it just now getting around in the news media? Is anyone acknowledging when it actually happened? I mean, I saw headlines that made it sound like Buzz did this recently in reaction to something he saw that he didn't like. My understanding is that he had that talk with the players before the season started, not in reaction to any specific problem.

The time on the ticket is 9:00, but realistically the second game starts about half an hour after the first one finishes.

To answer your question we'll tip around 9:30 barring overtime in the GT/Clemson game.

Except when we were excluded from the tournament all those years it was because we lost in the ACC tournament and what really matters is "how you finish". The only thing weighed heavily is if you're not Virginia Tech.
