Who cares what he thinks? LOLuva couldn't beat us in Cassell this year and these are his excuses. I'm only sad that he can't come visit again and leave with another L.

Wow. Ok, Malcolm. You want us to improve the lighting a little bit to suit your needs? Want us to add some luxury boxes and fancy amenities to make it feel a little bit more like JPJ for you? Man, what a whiner. You're there to play a basketball game; an in-state rival's court shouldn't feel nice and cozy and pretty for you. The little whiney soft comments like these from UVa really exemplify how much of a joke they really are. Just like the whole "academic integrity and standards" rhetoric from UVa on why they can't get more good football players. One ridiculous excuse right after another. So I guess Cassell being ugly and having bad lighting is the excuse why you got beat there this year, huh Malcolm?

As far as improvements to Cassell, yeah, every building should get a little facelift after a certain number of years. But Cassell is what it is - it's an old gym. So is Cameron Indoor. I personally think the fancy new modern arenas really take away from the college atmosphere and make it seem more corporate and commercialized (have been to a few games at JPJ, and that is exactly what it's like. Not to mention the UVa ticket holders who come to walk around and have social hour more than anything). No doubt it's an immaculate facility, but each team's stadium has it's own character and challenges for road teams.

For every close loss you say what if there's also that two, three or four point win that we pull it off like against UVA. We are who we are basically a 500 team

To be honest, I don't want Cassell to be changed much at all. No it isn't the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art arena...but it's HOME. It's LOUD. It's CLOSE, scary close. Yes of course they could upgrade some areas and make it a litter nicer, but to me at the end of the day, it's fine just the way it is. It definitely doesn't have the history of Allen Fieldhouse, or Cameron or any of those old "gyms", but it feels like one and gives us a GREAT homecourt advantage. I would also say don't add the luxury boxes to the top corners because in a very short time Buzzketball tickets will be selling like hotcakes. I'd rather have those spaces filled with students or fans than large luxury boxes.

Yeah, this game really only challenges the "#2 can't have less than 12 (0-6)" trend.

I wouldn't say its ugly, but its not far off.
Improvements could be made to the fan areas by making the front entrance (where the Hokie bird statue is) larger and more spacious. Then deck it out in some Hokie Stone.

Also, enlarge the concourse area towards the practice facility by sealing off the first section of the "buttress" could be another great area to add concourse room. Make it a "kids zone" or add more bathrooms and a nice food place or merchandise to improve gameday environment.

I think I was under the impression that it seemed like it was trying to be Madison Square Garden when you look at the lighting, at least on TV. The Cassell court seemed to be the only thing lit up, with the crowds in somewhat of the dark. I noticed it more last year, than this year though.

Why should we tax payers pay to keep scum like him fed and clothed?

Regardless of a person's stance on the death penalty, that reasoning is deeply flawed. It actually ends up being more expensive to give a guy the death penalty than life in prison.

It wasnt something they advertised before hand. They likely would have gotten a ton more bids if they had. It just happens to be a check box on the invoice they sent us.

I was waiting for the what if Ahmed Hill, Ty Outlaw and Chris Clarke had been healthy all season....all of those games surely would have been wins as we would have ascended to the ACC throne both regular and tournament wise.....there would have been no stopping the Hype Train if those guys had only played.

I for one am enjoying the fact that I was dead wrong about this team. I pegged them at a 13-18 type record, with few if any conference wins when we started. I picked most of these wins in conference by the time we got to the game to game evaluation but thats with knowledge in hand. Hats off to these kids for accomplishing way more than I thought was possible, health factors or not.

If the Hokies win out, and win two games in the ACC tournament, they're dancing. The committee is not leaving out a 20 win team that made it to the ACC semifinal.

However, SPOILER ALERT!!!

Hokies are not beating Miami. It's just a terrible matchup this year for this team. They can't match Miami's scoring threats.

The lighting is going to be "updated/upgraded" in JPJ arena during the off season, so whatever that is worth...

Just part of my philosophy that the past is the past, the only reason to look at it is learn from it. We would have had to have won the ISU and WVU games OOC to be in NCAA discussions this year, or been top 5 in conference. Yes we choked against the Q's, but did that help us beat Pitt? We may not be ready for the Big Dance, but what we did this year makes me think we are getting ready. I'd rather dream about the future then rue the past, but that's just my opinion, not meant to ruffle tail feathers.

I was kind of perplexed having attended the Syracuse game in person; the entire Dome was on its feet and clapping from the national anthem through the tip. I thought "this is a great atmosphere", then we took our 6-0 lead or whatever, but they were all -to a person- still on their feet.

As soon as they made their first basket, errrbody sat down and were never into it again (outside the student section) until the run for overtime.

Is standing until your first basket and then clamming up and sitting on your hands a tradition that I don't know about? Let's just say MrsEMC and I were very confused when the home team scored and then we were the only ones standing.

Well, looks like I will miss all the shots tonight trying to figure out how I breathe. How can you live with yourself?
