If you jump onto a stage at a national awards ceremony, take the microphone from the person speaking, denounce the awardee simply because you disagree, then that's a fine example of not working and playing well with others. I don't care who he has paid to be on his records.

Don't care if you are a hip hop or chap rock fan, that's not acceptable behavior.

We unconsciously tried (it had more to do with the beginning of the school year than anything else), but our son was born 9/17.

I see live attendance at Hokie games as birthday presents in his not-too-distant future.

In Vice's case I'm sure he was just tired of verbally telling people he could stomp their faces in. Now they know- no questions asked, the fact he chose the snake black leather model gave his intentions away.

Maybe because some of us wanted to discuss the album without being flooded by "Kanye is an Ass" posts? Everyone knows he is, some of us can get past it to enjoy his music.

At the end of the day though, whatever your rationalization, you are taking the product from someone without paying for it.

Before spotify was available, I would torrent albums, give it a listen, then decide if I wanted to buy the album. IMO, not much different than going to borders back in the day and listening to an entire album before buying. Now if you choose not to buy the album, but you continue to listen to the music, well, that's stealing.

Your ultimate conclusion "It just doesn't make sense for me to switch" evades the result that in order to get what you want (not something you even need), you are willing to simply take it.

You could make a general sweeping statement like that, sure. I wanted to buy a movie last week so I went and bought it. I didn't "simply take it."

I find a conversation about Kanye... Well that just about ruined my day.

So you decided to take even more time to comment on it. Ok.

I understand why you feel that way.

In this case, because you don't prefer the "store" it is available in.

It is a small thing, certainly.

But it is still not the right thing. Downthread mogwal takes it even further.

If he wants people to pay for it he should make it available to purchase.

This is a curiously short-sighted approach. I could just as easily say, if Mogwal has a car for sale, but he isn't around when I want to buy it or I don't like the price he is selling it for, I am entitled to take his car and not pay him. After all, if he wanted to be paid for it, he would have been available at my convenience, or put it in my price range.

I just clicked on this topic to see what the hell "Life of Pablo" was, and I find a conversation about Kanye... Well that just about ruined my day. Don't like the guy, don't like his music (what little I've heard of it), just my $0.02. Anyway, where's the next football post....?

Oh damn, it's about Kam getting the cops called on him...

That's why I stated that was all I had to say about it. Don't want to cause a huge discussion.

Seriously I still listen to that shit

His first three albums are one of the best, most cohesive, and (IMO) most all-around relatable 'trilogies' in hip-hop history. Since then, he's put out a good album, an ok album, and one really bad album.

I'm getting married in December to a Card (she's a Louisville alum). She initially was trying to do December 3rd, but me being the ever optimist, I convinced her December 10th was a much better date.

Likely rooted in some kind of conscious or unconscious racism

Why make this racist? I didn't see anywhere where it mentioned the race of the women or of the men with Kam. Are you insinuating in your first point that if the women and men were of the same race that they wouldn't have called the cops, and would have let them in? I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with that. I don't care if the people were black, brown, white, blue, green, purple, or any other color under the rainbow, when two women are in a locked building and it appears that 5 large men are trying to gain entrance it is in their best interest to call the police. As the cops stated, they encourage people to err on the side of caution.

I agree that it is saddening that society has gotten to a point where calling the police is the best option in this situation, but unfortunately that is the world we now live in. I would rather see a headline like this than a headline reading about two women killed or missing because they let unknown strangers into the building.

If he wants people to pay for it he should make it available to purchase. Right now you have to sign up for Tidal to hear it which is just a cheap marketing ploy to help out his buddy JayZ

First of all, Kanye does have stake in Tidal. A handful of artist (Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye, DeadMau5, Jack White and others) all do. So it's not just a cheap marketing ploy, it's supporting a business he has stake in. Secondly, Tidal pays the artist about 6 times as much as spotify, and 5 times as much as apple music per listen.

Now, obviously Kanye/Record Label failed to correctly project the torrenting and stealing that would result from release an album only on Tidal, but this isn't Kanye doing something just to 'help his buddy.'

Personally I think our OOC performance killed us. We beat alabama st and NW then I think we're having a more realistic talk about the tournament. You can't lose to those two teams at home and hope to make the tournament if you don't beat anyone of note. UAB being our best OOC win is not good. But if we win those two, with our current conference record we're at least on the bubble.
