That being said, I have always thought that it was amazing how poor the quality of QBs are in the Big 12 and the DBs who allowed them to just throw up jump balls with success. WVU had a good secondary for most of this year, and honestly that is the ONLY reason they went to a bowl game.
I will also say this, I was at the WVU/Baylor game in 2014 and watched WVU play cover 0 all day on Baylor with great success. I think he plays into the Bear scheme well. I expect French to have a better analysis on that though.

Given the trend in the up tempo direction in college football, and that we struggled in dealing with it in the bowl game, I think this adds a valuable ingredient to Bud's pantry. 23 picks is also impressive and if VT is going to full court press on both sides of the ball, this seems to be a good fit.
