"The fact that he worked for WVU doesn't make him evil." I agree. Could be, that for him, there were just no more couches to burn.
What is in that #sauce????
"Still shakin' it here, boss."
When it was reported that Chip West interviewed in Blacksburg the common sentiment over on "the sabre" was "Pray they hire him" and "the jokes on them".
Message boards and pundits can speculate until the cows come home, but it is the coaches who know who has the strong game and will add to the program. I would have bet money that we had no idea who was going to be hired and I would have won. I bet we all just won with this hire, and I certainly don't think we "settled" in making it.
To the OP, what kind of yeast do you use for your Tripel?

1st rule of leg club: You do not talk about leg club.
2nd rule of leg club: You DO NOT talk about leg club.
3rd rule of leg club: If someone says Rich Rod!, or goes full Bender, or quotes Al Groh poetry, the thread is dead.
4th rule of leg club: On any comment, You have but one leg to give or take...
5th rule of leg club: Unless you are VTGuitarMan.
6th rule of leg club: No shirts? Pics or no legs.
7th rule of leg club: Turkey legs have no intrinsic value...
8th rule of leg club: Unless you are VTGuitarMan, and the rest are just pikers and purveyors of weak gif-fu.
Feels like a layup instead of a tomahawk dunk.
2 points is still 2 points.
Yeah, I guess when I say out manned, I am referring to maybe out talented. I think any good basketball player can hit shots, but when you are playing in the ACC, you are playing against guys who can hit those shots in hotly and ably contested situations. The difference between good and really good lies in the finish. I do believe we have guys who will develop into better players who can actually score consistently, but we need guys that can do it, not just guys who might be able to do it at some point. It's the difference between the best teams and the rest of us, the ability to score points, night in, night out. I think we have a good coach and the beginnings of a good team and am very much looking forward to games when we're hitting half or more against ACC competition.
Hosley was outstanding. Glad the Giants drafted him.
Wait, isn't that the name of the restaurant with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
Excellent!
Yea good point. You really don't need to hop bomb typically. Russian River provides a homebrew clone of Pliny the Elder. It calls for about 17 oz of hops. The first addition by itself puts the beer (theoretically but not actually) over 100 IBUs (3.5 oz of CTZ for 90 min). Despite how many hops go in, I just brew it the same each time I make it because it's 90% of a real Pliny the Elder.
Yea the equations are linear. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I said you can get that high of an IBU. From what I understand I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of why that first addition is huge. It effectively saturates the wort with the bitter components from the hops. Then you are mainly left with the ability to impart flavor and aroma characteristics from the hops.
That's exactly what I do with most of my hoppy beers now! I normally have a minimal first worth hop addition and then add hops at 15 minutes, aroma steep, and/or dry hop.
So I don't know if anyone watched these but the face coverages from Kendall were sloppy. I'm inclined to blame that on his meniscus.
The vast majority of the PI calls had absolutely nothing to do with not turning the head and following the play. At least 4 or 5 had to do with a slow break on a receiver's move. These led to "holding" type interferences.
Another common one that arose was playing receivers against a boundary. I'm inclined to say that we may not be playing those the best. It seems like our corners try to blanket the receiver just as the ball arrives which causes some of the penalties. Most of those looked rather uncatchable to me (which is rarely called now adays).
Overall, I'd say a significant chunk of these PIs are called when we ARE turned and facing the ball while trying to make an aggressive play.
The stray one or two (Kendall against anOSU and whoever was in the ECU clip) were saving touchdowns and that is just a corner getting torched.
Overall I really enjoyed that watch. Leg!
EDIT: Counted them:
4 were touchdown saving plays w/ face coverage (2 were Kendall)
An additional 4 were face coverage (3 on the sideline 1 in the middle of the field)
3 were plays where the back was turned to the ball of facing the ball
4 were backs who got beat by a receiver's move and were holding pretty much since the snap in some cases
It is true, the line between realism and negativity can easily be blurred.

Well, yes and no in terms of IBU.
Yes, your calculation is probably correct however, it's not actually effective that way. The equations tend to think of hop element extraction as linear. It is not but, it very much does depend on a number of other factors, including your equipment and your individual processes.
There does come to a certain amount of saturation.
You really can't get 100 IBU into 5 gallon of wort that way. There is a tipping point at which the efficiency of extracting hop elements drops way off.
If you want to cut bitterness but keep the hop flavor, cut out some of the hops added up until 30 minutes left in the boil.
Leave the other additions from @ 30-20 minutes onward intact. The late boil additions don't add much bitterness and do add a lot of flavor and aroma.
Guys, he doesn't know about leg club. Show him!
Anybody have insight on how the team is looking this year?
Does anyone follow VT Baseball as religiously as the guy who does the wrestling write-ups? I'd really enjoy some more fine grained analysis on the VT sports I am ignorant of.
what are these turkey legs of which you speak? Are those the numbers we used to have by our screen names?

# | Report: WVU Cornerbacks Coach Brian Mitchell is Leaving WVU to Join Staff at Virginia Tech What are you talking about? From my couch, I can tell you that had he just turned around, it would definitely have been an interception. /s
Yeah, we're saying the same thing, you have stated it wonderfully.
He'll be 100% healthy, but will he ever be 100% of the runner he once was? We should be cautious to assume so.

Exactly.....
