This^^. While the game outcome cannot be blamed on the refs, they sure seemed determined to keep LeDay (who burned the Hoos last time around) on the bench this time. Seems like we got a few make up calls late in the second half after the game was decided.

That was a really sloppy performance by the good guys - certainly aided by the Hoo defense - however, our ineptitude at the rim was hard to watch.

Having Robinson score like that, to go with his passing skills, has me really excited about the future at PG.

Pretty sure it wasn't blacked out. Maybe you and your buddies just forgot to pay the cable bill? That was my senior year and I remember watching it at my buddy's apartment.

Funny, quasi-related story: I remember stepping outside to head down to Hokie House after it was over to celebrate and seeing fireworks over campus. I thought it odd that we had fireworks to celebrate an away game. The Collegiate Times even ran a story about the game and referenced the celebratory fireworks in their next issue, which they had to later correct after pissing off the Indian Student Association. Apparently the celebration was for a Hindu holiday, and it was pure coincidence that it happened immediately after Shayne's winning FG.

From reading his post, I get the impression that he knows people on the inside and doesn't have verified documentation to provide citation for his sources.

The O-Line was a mean bunch of dudes back then. I'm pretty sure their scheme was to just knock everyone down on every play. I also noticed that a lot of times when MV7 would roll out, he'd have a guard or center pull with him for protection. Makes sense. Do you not see that anymore or am I just missing it?

`17's schedule is a cake walk assuming the coastal doesn't produce any world beaters.

For me, `16 is a big question mark/trial period, and `17 will be a really good confidence boost which we will need going into the 2018 schedule, which luckily is when the Fuente Death Train will hit full dipped.

It wasn't blacked out, I was watching it in my apartment in Foxridge. I remember stepping out on my porch after the kick and hearing all of the yelling from everywhere. And if course I had to join in.

The problem is you're comparing VT to Auburn & Alabama & LSU. Going beyond the decades and decades of football tradition of those schools, the significantly greater resources, and the national media presence they have, they are relatively small states with a breadth and depth of passion for those football programs which is at an entirely different level than VT and UVA in Virginia. They aren't just local football teams, they are the identity of the state for a significant portion of the population.

When VT has a budget comparable to those schools, another 2 or 3 decades of football success, and the local and regional fans/alums/businesses/media/politicians are as involved and passionate as Bama, Auburn & LSU, then maybe you can try to compare them.

yes. i mean, i guess there is always the chance he leaves before that, but i feel like Buzz is genuinely invested in building our program. why leave while making progress?

I am in no way defending that sort of salary. And I have no idea what sort of revenue these SC football programs bring in. I can speak to this... High school athletic funding in my area is greatly reliant on high school football gates (attendance/concessions) and winning teams can pay the freight for other sports.

It was amazing. The odd thing was (and I am not alone) I was celebrating and high-fiving my crew in the way you would when a play was over. The stadium was crazy then it was like everyone suddenly realized "Andre is going to score!" and then we got to celebrate again. One of the standout moment s for me in attending VT games over the years.

I hadn't realized that schools still had the power to restrict where they transfer even after graduating. I've done a little more reading and I'm still torn on whether or not that is a good or bad thing. As far as Motley's situation is concerned, I think the nice thing would be to let him go. He'll only have one spring practice session with the current coaches and he's put in his time at Tech to get a degree. Why not reward the academic effort to be able to go where you think you have a shot at some playing time? I guess we'll see what happens once we get through spring ball.
