yeah that's a good point. I try not to get too caught up in the whole #sauces thing. I take everything with a grain of salt. This is the internet, after all, and I'm sure that for every piece of good information there are 4 pieces of bad info. I enjoy the banter but I try not to take anything seriously until it's verified. I'm not going to pound down posters' doors demanding a credible source. That doesn't mean I'm not curious about it though. If someone says something interesting I store it in my memory banks and make a mental note to check on the status of that statement periodically.
The allegation that Lawson has turned a corner and won the locker room is certainly interesting. If the poster wants to share his source, cool. If not, that's fine too. I'll just keep an eye out for anything relating to that bit of info.
Hopefully that's the last of the motocross helmet. It was fine as a one-off, but how many times did it get used last yr? Enough for eternity, IMO.
It does sure seem to look that way at times. Here is another for you, when you have a hall of fame coach like Coach K, the calls really seem to go one way unless said hall of famer is coaching against another hall of famer like Izzo, then the referees swallow the whistles completely. Just an observation. I thought LeDays 3rd foul (an offensive charge) he got last night was completely bogus, that could be called on every single play.
There's no way Motley is the starter come fall. At this point there's a clean slate since no one has run Fuentes offense before. The only thing Motley has is familiarity with the current players and wide receivers. There's no way Lawson and Evans will be behind Motley on the depth chart. Motley has proven that he was a subpar backup qb last year under loeffler. Don't see him being anything more than that under Fuente. New coach, new start, new qb.
None, Roanoke is a very small airport that only flies direct to a handful of places. We won't be recruiting in a 6 hour flight footprint
That is characteristic of Bud's defense though. You learn for two or three years then step up as a contributor. We have seen this for decades. Will there be growing pains? Yes. We likely take an early lump against UT, I'll yield that. But you can't call later in the season and a lot of it rides on depth and the injury bug. The team that stays healthy makes deeper runs. That's why I am all jacked up on our new S&C coach. Better strength and conditioning leads to more stable joints and fewer "stretch" plays where injury occurs.

I don't disagree that a school like LSU is better able to lock down a state, I'm simply pointing out that some schools are still able to do it and I don't think UNC falls into the same boat as the SEC schools I mentioned
I agree, I hope we maintain. Sports are cyclical if you aren't a historical powerhouse. Possibly our best coach, Dresser, probably has more ex-athletes who hate him than love him. But he puts out a good product and runs a great program. The man knows he can't please all, but he builds good people who know how to beat the hell out of their opponents.
Until 2023, the hardest OOC opponent they have is Duke.
... while, on the same program, hyping up Alabama by saying they beat a really tough Tennessee team.
I get the whole #sauces movement as you don't want people on here spewing unverifiable nonsense. However, it appears that this movement is leading to people pouncing on posters who don't provide a link for their information. I feel like there is a balance somewhere in there and currently this community is on the 'citation or die' side of the line.
Did you watch the Clemson game? Because Wilson is why we won it.
Of course he won't fix the O overnight, but he's got all the way til September...should be plenty of time. /s
It's also possible when you schedule UVA. We've been over this!
as my high school english teacher once told me: "MLA style citations or gtfo"
Don't know how great they are, but I guarantee Texans will claim they're the biggest...

I'm curious too. That being said, and I'm not trying to be snarky and this isn't directed at anyone in particular, but it is the off-season. Bold statements are pretty much standard.
And he stated that before he coached his first game for VT, he told people to remember that it is not going to be a quick turn around, that it would take 3-4 years to get VT to where it should be. We are in year 2, and considering where we were last year, and the young talent on this team, I think we are in a great spot for the future. I don't see Buzz leaving in the middle of a rebuilding process that he has acknowledged is going to take some time.
14-0 is only possible if you think we'd somehow get left out of the playoff after an undefeated season.
I love the optimism but don't get your hopes up too much. Fuente is not likely to fix the offense over night and we have some pretty serious question marks throughout our defense. The front 7 has a lot of new bodies and we don't even know who is going to be coaching the DBs. I would be shocked if our defense didn't take a step back this season. I'm not expecting our offense to come out of the gate quickly either. We have talent but there are bound to be some growing pains whenever you have coaching turnover. I think 6-8 wins is realistic. I would love to be wrong and go 15-0 though. I just don't see it. UNC, Miami, UT and ND are definitely going to be tough games. I'll be happy if we got 2-2 against those 4.
Just curious how you know Lawson has turned the corner and has the locker room lead. No offense intended, just curious how you know that? Pretty bold statement to make unless you really know.
I think that's half lip service for the very reason the term exists...because it's what some people want to hear.
I'm not saying VT will ignore Virginia players, but I do think it will be more selective with those it does recruit. I think when it's all said and done, the roster will reflect an increased emphasis on regional recruiting. More players - not less - will be from out of state.
I'm curious, how many 6 hour flights go in and out of Roanoke?
While somewhat fair, what P5 team has Lawson or Evans beaten? I'll hang up and listen.

Thanks. Wasn't trying to be a stickler for sources, was just curious as a VT engineering student.
