I really hope we can land Belmar and Bailey, flip Fox, and a hopefully land a few others. This isn't a show-stopper recruiting class but it is reflecting an adrenaline shot to our recently stagnant recruiting and landing some of these what-if guys will be a step in the right direction as we have missed out on so many guys we were in the top 2-3-4 with. Hopefully a solid turn around in the win column this season will help our 2017 recruiting keep moving in an even more positive direction.

He retweeted Stromans tweet gif showing that hit in the LOLUVA game with the "4000 days and counting"

We seem pretty high on some player's lists already. I'm excited to see how the coaching staff does the next few cycles. All I've been finding is praise from players and HS coaches

Agreed. Some serious talent in the state for the 2017 cycle. Have to hope we aren't too far behind the ball there. A solid chance to bring some top tier talent.

I'm hoping Buzz finds a way to get his team's legs under themselves...it doesn't get any easier with a game at the Carrier Dome tomorrow.

Again you're spot on. I think they made chicken salad this year (not from Beamer era issues but from a changing of the guard) and I think this level of effort earlier in the game is gonna win us some sought after talent.

Dylan Powell got the dreaded Evan Watkins Crystal Ball to some other school than VT (Stanford.) It was expected that he would pick Stanford, his "dream school," after they offered little over a week ago.

Watkins is pretty dialed in to the VT coaching staff, generally he is a reflection of their internal barometer.

The throw at 1:48 really hurts his chances at playing under center for us. Got a hitch there that I don't think even Tyrod Taylor's dad could fix it.

Ok, so I'll admit. I saw 2 stars, and a guy that probably isn't as big as they are saying he is, and I'm thinking, oh boy, are we just filling gaps with prospects?

After watching that film, I am amazed that he is rated only 2 stars.

Kid has an unbelievable motor. He reminds me of a great white shark -- tracks his prey as long as it takes (which often isn't long at all), then closes with an incredible burst of speed and hits with violence.

Don't know that I've ever seen a high school kid use his hands so well to get off blocks. Looks like Aikido almost. And strong hands -- I know the people he's tackling are generally smaller and less powerful than what he'll see in college, but man, when he gets even one mitt on someone, they go down.

We had no defense. Sure , some of the calls were questionable , but the refs were not the issue - we still got to the line more than they did . Blaming the refs doesn't change the fact that they had a high # of uncontested shots. We can't play D very well. We allow 80pts/game in ACC play, opponents shoot 47% (truly expected that to be higher). Can't expect to win a ton of games with those #s.

Expected nothing less. Kid was back and forth on his OV. Seemed like he didn't want Pitt to pull his offer for visiting so he'd do it last minute have fun and still commit to Pitt.

Agreed might be too late to the game for this one as well. Especially hard that we are in a dead period now, but I believe you can call players who you have sent NLI to, and I would believe Fox is getting one just in case.

All in all, Fuente and co. was putting into a very deep hole for this cycle and are doing a pretty good job of trying to dig themselves out, just might not have big enough shovels.

My favorite was the loose ball foul on Bibbs, that was changed to the Pitt player and it looked like both guys just running into each other trying to get the ball.

Wouldn't say "ship has sailed" because you know...'crootin. But it would be very surprising if he was a Hokie. More telling that on his twitter he is retweeting things to try and get #DamarToPitt who commits tonight.

Pitt shot really well from the field, it was at their court and they are a good team that should be in the tournament. We lost this game by a lot of points, but I don't think we will start to spiral down. We have already played the top 4 teams in the ACC (also Duke, who is not top 4 right now) and only have to play UVA again. Still have to play Miami twice, but the rest of the schedule is pretty easy as far as ACC schedules go.

So he made a friend on his visit. His Twitter feed is nothing but Pitt love otherwise. Ship has sailed.

The fact of the matter is, until our offense gets rolling and we get back to winning consistently, we aren't an attractive option to many big recruits, in state or out. The last four years we didn't have the glory of a championship run to offer, we had a terribly inconsistent and unproductive offense, and our defense while enticing to play for Bud plays more scrutinized than most teams because we rely on them so much that when they do make mistakes we crucify them on message boards and such (see promising young corner Greg Stroman, who I saw people on here trash him like a scrub after he got out muscled a few times against ECU). They may not notice the third one as much, but you're crazy if you don't think the first two have had a distinct role in our decline in recruiting.

When I can get off my iPad I'll try and embed it but he has been retweeting VT and Pitt stuff for a few days now.

I need to write my rent check.

Don't forget that your landlord sold the property to me. Let me know if you need my address for your rent check.

Oof my roommate hit me up for that this morning. Way to start up a week...
