If you like Hockey next year may I recommend Guns and Hoses annual Hockey Game.

I didn't say we wouldn't get our shot, but it is clearly an uphill battle. I'll be as happy as anyone if he does commit
How much would it cost to build an ice rink on campus? Just wondering, it would have been cool to have hockey games to go to when I was in college.
Kid Says Stuff - story at 11.
He was committed to Florida, too. What did that mean? I'm not saying he didn't get wowed in Knoxville. I'm just saying recruits make grand overtures all the time (spurring conversations like this one) that end up meaning very little.
Before we kiss this kid goodbye and bemoan the weather, can we have our shot at wowing him?
I believe you are correct... In learning more about them I found this a little surprising, but given that it is a club sport that's part of Rec Sports, it probably shouldn't have been. I'm sure there are many other competitive club sports at VT in the same boat. Taken from their web site:
The cost for participating is directly correlated with fundraising and sponsorship efforts. Men's club hockey will work to supply fundraising programs while outside recommendations will be entertained. Players are required to provide their own equipment. Players will be given a team helmet, gloves, shell/pants, track suit, apparel. Variations of these items may be provided by the team and included in the cost of playing. Players can also expect additional costs for some travel expenses.
These kids love being Hokies, and that means something to me.
ACHA has 3 divisions broken into regions IIRC. it's as close to varsity as a club sport can get as far as organization.
Who do they play against? Just any college that has a club team, no matter what size the school is?
Bonner isn't coming. Bailey said he almost committed this morning and Tennessee was by far his favorite, big difference than just saying good things about the school. Weather isn't looking great either
Yeah as a Packers fan, last night I was screaming at the refs (alcohol probably didn't help) but this morning as a reasonable fan, I'm glad the refs let them play. Plus, it wasn't the refs that allowed Fitz to go HAM as soon as overtime started...
As opposed to all those kids who denounce a program hosting them on their visit weekend?
Most kids have grace enough to heap praise on a school during their OV. And hey, Tennessee is doing well recruiting lately.
So when we have him, and Wells, and Powell, and Bonner, and Nygel King, AND Durr AAAAND Pigrome in The Burg this weekend, it had better be a helluva show. These next 2 weekends are chock full of opportunities for Fuente & Co.
I think there were a lot of close calls and no calls that went either way.
If it's an escape you were asking about the situation probably started in the top and bottom positions in which the bottom wrestler got an "escape" but the top wrestler never fully lost control, hence the clinched position. The refs will usually swallow their whistles until the action is over, which was probably a stalemate in this situation, to award the 1 point in case of the bottom wrestler getting a reversal. Another situation that could've occurred is a stalling point which comes when one wrestler is initiating the action while the other essentially does nothing to score. Now with the new college out of bounds rules stalling is becoming more common of a call no matter how controversial see the Joey Dance/Nathan Tomasello finals match in Vegas where Joey loses on a bullshit stalling call due to the new rules.
You're right about that last bit. If you want to win, or make the argument that you deserve to win, you should probably cover the future hall of fame receiver in OT.
Didnt we just get a new court in Cassel with the current font on it? I may be the only one, but I like the current font.
"Delaney collecting MVPs every week"
No, I looked it up. Escape: A move you use from the bottom of the referee's position to escape, or get away from your opponent
I never said I was expecting anything other than I was just ranting, it was at the bottom of my first paragraph that started this big discussion. I said I hope it changes, meaning we have linebackers that are bigger, but again I also said I was not the coach and just ranting. I acknowledged that the moves were all successful but used it to back up my statement that if we get someone who is normal linebacker size they will most likely be moved to DE/DT IMO.
I think the Packers got robbed by the officiating against the cardinals. There was a lot of pass interference and holds that should have been called against the Card's. Nothing. That said, when the game mattered the Green Bay Defense couldn't stop Larry Fitzgerald. Shade of Pitt all over again.
I am going to be happy for every single ACC win and know that the team is getting better and progressing.
I think the games this year are giving me a heart condition.
I'm not sure what you are expecting. The transitions referenced here were all successful moves that would have been unsuccessful if left at the original position. It's not just VT that is looking for speed and skill at linebacker. If they don't have the speed VT needs, then they won't have the speed the NFL needs either, so it could be argued we are actually optimizing these kids' football careers.
What it boils down to is competition and supply/demand problem for elite linebackers.
I was thinking the same thing. If they could be shut down, they would be immobile quarterbacks.
The NCAA can write whatever policy or bylaws they want but that doesn't mean anything unless you voluntarily sign a contract with them or VT. if I only post to fan sites then I have zero legal affiliation to them or VT in any way whatsoever. I can contact whomever I wish, whenever I wish. The ONLY thing they could do is punish the university which leads back to my two premises above, being that they would have to investigate every tweet equally and universities would have to accept unlimited liability for everyone in the world. Neither of those are ever going to happen.
But hey, if you truly believe that an organization can simply write bylaws that can apply to anyone ever then let me introduce you to my company's new bylaw that states; if your user ID is "bigdaddy" on www.thekeyplay.com then you owe me a check for 1 million dollars if you reply to one of my posts, which well... it was enacted last week so.... I accept wire transfers or cash, no checks. Thanks!
(agree on Hokie Club, which is a booster organization so it's clear cut)
You might be right insiders are saying he was very high on Tennessee during his visit

No doubt re uphill battle. In a way, unless you're the Dark Lord Saban, all the good recruits are...
Here's hoping you're right about him and Wells being a package deal.
