Hokie Club Q&A are going to be great this year.
Nice, any disclosure at this time of his salary?
Worilds
Yea the Radford one was a lot of fun. It's at the River City Grill right across the street from Sharkey's. There were usually about 10-20 people playing and they had a pretty good menu and bar. Do you play an instrument?
Oops posted in the wrong thread somehow.
So here's my edit: Great write-up glad to see someone who knows more than me verify a lot of the specific praises I've given Ford on here.

We fished in about 2 feet of water in Florida. The run of the reds on light tackle was awesome.

Good point. UNC could do this at any time during the "semester"
In memory of Bowe and damn this hype train...
Yep- I thought both Coleman and Trey were underutilized down the stretch. That isn't a knock on Travon. However, he clearly wasn't healthy late in the bowl game. JC had the fumble, so I understand being concerned, however Edmunds was averaging almost 6 yards and doesn't have a history of fumbling. Why were they putting McMillian out there on one leg after the Coleman fumble. Flabbergasting!
Doesn't show up doesn't always mean that the effort isn't there. The effort was there throughout on Saturday but mentally it did not seem that they were as engaged as they needed to be. Yes, Duke came out and immediately drained a number of long range shots but they were also getting open looks that allowed them some opportunities to jump out to such a lead. VT kept fighting and at a few junctures early in the first half looked like they may be able to claw themselves back into the game, but each time Duke would then rattle off another 6 or 7 point run that quickly put the game out of reach.
In the ACC, VT is going to need to be fully there physically and mentally to get W's. They just don't have the level of talent to not show ready to rock and roll.
This a bunch.
If anything, the "us vs. them" mentality is what's being displayed in some of these comments.
I'd be interested in seeing how many P5 programs use a flat salary for position coaches, I'm guessing it's a thing.
The complaints were generally not that nuanced. The complaints were mostly along the line of how VT needed to commit to a feature back because rotations don't work.
Edmunds in particular was terribly misused. Yet, even though he got a lot of predictable 3&short carries and goal line carries, his YPC numbers were still quite respectable.
I'm more pissed that UVA went and lost to GT and made our win look not as good.
DJ Coles was number 52 one year, then number 2 the next? That's quite a jump!
Who needs em?!
Wild turkeys, screens, and end arounds are not good uses of Hodges, IMO.

Hatters gon' hat.

I'll agree with this. I can't say I ever saw any rankings above a 3*. My recruiting site of choice at the time was Rivals, but would also cruise the others with curiosity. As I recall, the story (locally) was that he was such an under the radar get. I remember him having plenty local hype due to the Ron Curry rivalry, but not nearly the national attention that Curry (a 4-5* as I remember) was getting or a 4*(+) would have gotten.
Okay then.

They were quite bullish on DJ Coles. I almost exclusively followed Rivals at that juncture in my life and he was like a fringe 4-star. And as stated above Macho was a 5 star on rivals, and for the most part he lived up to it, wish he would have done better in the NFL though.
