I've been following this band basically since they started since all the original members are from my hometown. It's definitely been interesting following all of their albums through the years and listening to how their sound has evolved over time and with new members. I definitely think Purple has some of the best melodies and overall songwriting I've ever heard from the band, but the production is really weird. The sound seems overly compressed and it sounds like all my speakers are blown out. Definitely didn't come off sounding as good as it could have, because these are all really good songs.
It is sad that the harsh Baizley growls from the EPs have disappeared, but I do give them a ton of credit in that they have never put out any two records that sound the same. I will always think of Red Album as being their best work and best sound, but it always excites me when any new Baroness comes out. Just keeps me guessing what these guys will do next.

Yeah, Purple is heavier than Y&G for sure and IMO a better album overall. The split has much harsher vocals similar to first and second or the other two albums. I think honestly maybe I just don't love Baizley's voice when he is melodically singing as opposed to the growl. And to be fair I have gotten more of a heavy and harsh streak in my tastes in the last couple of years.
I wished I could have made it down to see that show as I love Down and I really wanted to catch a band called Mutoid Man, but had too much going on.
It's always tough to lose the iconic. A true original. I am at the age when friends, family, acquaintances and heros are starting to move on, and nothing brings that closer to home, for some reason, than losing entertainment icons.

For what it's worth, I've talked to a lot of professionals that strongly recommend against ATG for athletes that do a lot of quick cuts and/or lateral movement, the argument being that there's more risk but no additional reward. Regardless, I'm sure Hilgart is far more knowledgeable than any of us here.
Getting the win in C'ville to get the sweep against UVA, now that would be SWEET.
It seems like we experience a large number of knee inguries int he past that cripple the seasons. Maybe not so many in 2015, but there seems like a pattern. Hopefully he can develop strength, without creating physical issues that the player's bodies have a difficult time handling.

Madden is too in-depth with too many little nuances to each play to address while playing. It has taken out the element of just trying to have fun and really emphasizes the need to have an in-depth knowledge of the game to be successful.
NCAA Football was just great as a pick up and play.
I can never be pissed when the 'hoos lose. It's just the way things ought to be. When it comes to them, I don't care how it looks to anyone else.

I had a friend recently tell me that they had resolved the legal issue and would start making new ones again but I couldn't find anything of the sort.
I have to say though that one of the reasons I loved NCAA Football was because it played differently than Madden. Maybe it was the more arcade style or fast paced play but Madden feels really slow to me now. Maybe I'm just weird but I'd hope they'd continue keeping the two separate.
I must have been way more intoxicated all season than I thought. I'm rather happy to be facing Lefty.
Doubt it, unless something radically changes all the recruiting sites are saying there is no chance for the hokies
