# | QB Jerod Evans Sees Situation at Tech That's "Almost Too Good to be True," Picks the Hokies If you read the comments in the post (here) announcing Evans' commitment the general consensus is that the competition for the starting job will be competitive. If Evans wins out, Motley stays (5th year senior) and the smart move is for Lawson to red shirt and have the starting job in '18 and '19.

That aside since he is going to be here for spring ball it will be nice to have a thorough competition for the starting role and a whole spring in the new offense for whoever ends up behind center in Bristol...

As a Skins fan, I have to laugh, otherwise I'd go insane.
I'm sure Fuente has something to do with it, and the 2016 change seems to give us an opening, but I wouldn't discount the uniform as driving a somewhat impulsive tweet.
Supposedly the kids love the black with orange. Throw in a little maroon / strategic white and its probably as attractive to the youngins as our colors can get.
And Nike gives them to us almost never. I'm not looking to change up the school's colors, I'm just saying we should cater a little more to what the kids (recruits) like. I don't dislike our colors, just think many kids think the black and orange is en fuego.
That is a mountain of a person right there...holy cow!
