It was hot in here until you posted the GIF.
Let me preface this by saying no one knows for certain what the future holds.
But for just a moment, let's allow ourselves to assume that Evans has the goods. Let's say he's a difference maker. If nothing else, let's assume he's a very good fit for the offense that Justin Fuente will install. Let's also appreciate that without a coaching change, there is exactly zero chance that we get this commitment. Frank and Lefty were not going after this guy.
If Evans works out and makes the transition to Fuente's spread a little more seamless, we might look back at this out-of-left-field commitment as a pivotal moment in the program.
Leg for the Regan video. In the related links there's a really good, old segment of his. The best thing is that his new stuff is just as good as his old stuff. The Radio City Music Hall special took awhile to get warmed up but by the end I was holding back tears.

Also those middle highlights...were they shot with Gboogle Earth??!!
haha..I had the same thought. I guess he's big enough to see from space. Maybe that was the point of those clips.
That's sorta what I was thinking.
Ninjaman and Osterloh are both 6'8".
QB by committee? /s
I still don't think you can say a guy isn't a team player when he leads the team in assists.
Or maybe he's a true freshman. Tyrod Taylor wasn't ready as a true freshman (even in a much simpler offense). Let's give the kid a couple years before we start commenting on his attitude.
If I was his high school coach, I would tell him to try and "bulldoze" directly down the line and see if he can't take out the DE, DT, and Nose all at once. Against some of that competition, I think he would be able to do it.
these highlights are hilarious. for such a big dude, he didn't look like he labored around the field too much.
It's pretty obvious that his team is rather lacking in talent. So many of those highlights have him pushing two people into the second level while the running back barely eeks out 2 or 3 yards.
Happy to see an OL commit.
Well obviously VT has had an eye for talent and when we offer, the sharks start to circle. It's the kids that only have one FBS offer (VT offer) by signing day that have me worried if they're going to be good.
Unless he's been committed to VT since 10th grade and basically told everyone: "don't bother, I'm a Hokie through and through". Then I'm OK if he only has a VT offer.

# | QB Jerod Evans Sees Situation at Tech That's "Almost Too Good to be True," Picks the Hokies I definitely agree. And Im also glad to see there are still kids that put an emphasis on that side of the program as well.
did he just pancake two guys at once (30s mark)? I think in a few years the Teller House of Pancakes may have to change it's name to the Jackson House of Pancakes.
This is a redundant statement, but if one thing's for certain, the best QB on the roster will be happy...
that's just not fair, i mean he's like NFL sized, blocking middle school kids.
Excellent gif. I haven't thought of this skit in a long time.
Hopefully he'll stonewall some pass rushes
Holy hell that's a big kid. Who was our last OL who was that tall?
I apologize if this has already been discussed and I missed it but is Cantor staying on staff or is he just doing his job until the end of the year?
I'm really glad that it seems that Fuente is continuing to put an emphasis on that side of the program. It is who we are and it's one of our biggest selling points. You can go to Alabama and be a cog in the machine or you can come to Tech and be part of the family.

# | QB Jerod Evans Sees Situation at Tech That's "Almost Too Good to be True," Picks the Hokies Ya really upbeat read. I couldnt stop grinning.

Excellent points, but I think even more important than a never let up mentality is Buzz getting his normal rotation to play together and figure out how to operate as a unit. How often do we see 3-4 players on the court who weren't there last year?
To your point about what happens if we get into foul trouble, well, how often have we seen Satch finish a night with about as many fouls as points? Sure he's huge and he does snag the occasional rebound for a few easy points, but he lacks the mobility and ball skills to really be a force inside, bordering on being a liability at some points.
Just things I've seen from one end of the court.
