but that 6-6 teams would still be able to fill bowl vacancies if necessary. No 5-7 teams will be allowed in the postseason.

I think this will be great for college football. We don't need to reward "average" seasons. I have no problems with reducing the bowl games by about 20.

Your Tyrod assessment is just wrong. He isn't a great traditional QB yet and might never be but he is far from "average" with any definition. He is 4th in the NFL in QBR and quarterback rating. He has a huge TD-turnover ratio. He is winning games with his arm and making plays with his feet. He has top 5 deep throw accuracy (statistically, not just my opinion) and as they trust him more and base the offense more around him he will get more opportunities to make plays with his arm. "Average but consistent" invokes ideas of middle of the road QB's who you know exactly what they give you each week, game managers, not playmakers, and Tyrod is far, far from that.
Someone with a lot more time and resources than me should count the number of 4/5 * QB's who have gone to SEC teams since 2007 compared to the number that start a game in he NFL vs say the ACC and BIG Ten.
It would have sucked for us this year, but this would be a good thing.
If Lawson stayed for 5 years, he would be TWENTY-FIVE yrs old in his 1st NFL camp. For comparison, Tyrod Taylor is just twenty-six and is in his 5th NFL season.
With a child to support, if Lawson's good enough to get drafted, he isn't going to stay 5 yrs. Period.
If he's not good enough to get drafted after a 4th year, he's very likely not going to finish at VT.
Discussion of and hand-wringing over a redshirt for Lawson is moot -- and that's before taking into consideration that Motley quite possibly exceeded expectations and/or Lawson was the next best option if an injury-prone Motley got injured.

Perception would have me think, before looking at any roster, the Pac-12 would have the most starting/on NFL roster QBs? Just on perception of the conference, I would put a wager on that, I dont know if its true, but I would take that bet.
Perception of SEC QB, is probably the opposite, I would probably take the bet if someone came up, and said $100 SEC has the fewest QBs on NFL rosters than any other P5 conference, I would probably take that bet?
Again, thats just based on perceptions, I would imagine most people would take those bets, to some degree

Oh I agree, if there werent some of the other stuff going on, some of the sideline rumors, his body language, a lot of things other peole have noticed, things other QBs in the room have said...that comment would have been just taken for what it was, I just think in the context, in the way it was said, its getting a little harder to ignore some of the signs...
youre right Ive never met the kid, but Ive also never met JC Coleman/Sam Rogers and from things people have said and their actions I'd never question their character or work ethic...
I still want to give him the benefit of the doubt, I mean there hasnt been any off the field issues Ive heard of or any direct locker room issues, but I guess Im just starting to hope its not the case, rather than not even worrying about it like some of the other kids on the team..

From what I've heard, Kyle Allen is giving Oklahoma a long look. He'll sit next year behind Baker (assuming he stays and he likely will) and then it will be all his. Kyle Allen is probably going to (at least get a chance to) play on Sundays and someone is really going to luck out wherever he goes. He also didn't get straight up benched, he attempted to play through an injury that drastically affected him and they eventually pulled the plug on him, tough kid. Him leaving also makes sense in that A&M will have three 5 star QB's on the same team next year if he stays. He would probably win the job, but with two dual threat 5* QB's behind you the irrational screams from fans get very loud after a loss or two. I think this is a homerun for whoever gets him.
That said, someone could also really luck out with Trevor Knight, he flashed a lot of potential in that big win over Alabama then he had an injury-filled 2014 where he was middling for a very disappointing OU team. Granted, he did suffer a pretty scary, almost very serious neck injury and I don't think he's been the same since then. He's definitely much more of a wildcard than Allen, but also potentially a good pickup for a team in need of a one year guy.

Comparatively, there may be more bodies playing but talent wise, it may be pretty even with the SEC.
I think we can all agree that NFL production from SEC quarterbacks has not equaled the hype they received in college, but that's a far cry from being a QB "graveyard". 5 starters in a 32-team league (would be 6 if Peyton Manning was healthy) is nothing to sneeze at. They have several other alums serving as NFL backups as well. While less noteworthy, being a third stringer in the NFL still puts a guy among the top 96 in the world at his job.
I have a close friend who is a big A&M fan and I can cosign that statement. They are very upset with the utilization of talent and the coordinators. Murray, unlike Allen, probably doesn't have much of a future after college at QB because he is quite small, but he could be absolutely deadly in college. He is lightning quick and fast and he can zip the ball, I'm pretty sure the kid never lost a game at Allen HS and started for 3-4 years. If they fail to build an offense around him, they really do need a new coordinator. That said, if he doesn't perform they can just go to the next 5* up, Tate Martell.
