I guess the difference is that he wants it to be HIS choice, and not that of Georgia.
I'm guessing his buyout and prior pay leave him in a pretty good financial situation, so it's really more about what he wants to do.
I feel like if you're trying to decide if you want to coach, you've already decided you don't want to coach. If we've learned anything, it's that the UVA interview had him second guessing his career field.
Im really surprised there isnt a disgruntled "Fuente whiffed on Patrick Jones comment"...
I mean comeon the guys been here 48 hours already, the fact that we dont have at least one 5* commit by now is alarming. #guyCantRecruit face it. #sarcasm #iLikeTheFuenteHireAndImNotAfraidToShowIt
Haaaaa. That made me laugh
That's right UVA, you rank below "do nothing."
Im also a little giddy it doesnt sound like Richt will be in our backyard.
Continue to dominate in state? Since when have they dominated in state?
It's a moot point now though, since Richt is going to Miami. UVA never had a chance with him, it was all in likelihood a courtesy interview by Richt.
The plot thickens.
Told by sources close to Richt that he's considering the Miami job, but hasn't yet accepted. Trying to decide if he wants to coach— Mark Schlabach (@Mark_Schlabach) December 2, 2015
Richt's choice: coach at Miami or do nothing. That's right UVA, you rank below "do nothing."
Sounds like all uva was was leverage to get what he wanted at Miami, supp was texting Miami while in hooville!!!! Classic, hearing Miami is team to beat but richt hasn't decided yet if he wants to coach.
Old Memphis recruiting article with Fuente:
Offensive line is such a developmental position. You bring in a handful of freshmen, and the chances of them helping immediately are not real good. I think you have to over-recruit the offensive line.
I like the sound that. Alot better than converting TE's and guys from the Dline.

What if Fuente decides that, instead of one RB coach, he wants to use three or four coaches in a RB-coach rotation? How would the NCAA count that?
They're 18 yr old kids.... boys at that.
They say stuff that doesn't make sense all the time. God bless them all.
He declined based on being overqualified for position
Their top 4 list, richt, greg schiano, dan Mullen and butch davis, out of those 4 dan Mullen in my opinion would kill it at Miami but you really can't go wrong with any minus Davis.
He was jumping up and down, waving his arms at the ref demanding a flag for a late hit. It looked to me like any contact was incidental and rather minimal. I think when his arm came down from one of its flailings, it might have clipped Stroman's shoulder pad. Certainly should never have happened, but I think some people have blown it a bit out of proportion.
Uva to interview bobo the clown from ringling Bros barnum and Bailey circus for head coaching vacancy
Miami has made it clear (publicly) that he is their number 1 choice.

Belk Bowl has been VERY active on Twitter engaging with Hokie fans. They seem to allude to the fact that they're going to take us. Now the outcomes of the games this weekend just have to go as planned...
Canesinsight.com reporting richt expected to sign with Miami.
Brody Logan was the first guy to break the Fuente news, FWIW.
You make a good point. I think it's worthy of consideration.
Then I think about how loud Cassell gets when it has a full house and VT is facing a top ACC competitor. UNC's arena has 21,000 seats, so VT at 10,000 is already "intimate" in ACC terms.
I could go either way on giving up seats, but if it's for clear improvements, I'd hear out the ideas.
Of course the first and best idea is to win some games and get a bigger crowd.
Nothing official until the school announces, but these people did get the Al Golden hire right shortly before it was official
Mark Richt is expected to be named Miami's next Head Coach, sources told https://t.co/a7sVno50GF. #Canes— Peter Ariz (@PeterAriz) December 2, 2015

Dickey-Does!
Can you call for a fake punt on 4th and 16 at midfield in a close game against our big brother rival?
And can you make that a run by a slow footed punter - rather than a play that might actually have a chance of working - so it looks like a show from Animal Planet?
If so, you're our man.

This guy might still be available:
