It is true that many people would not be fans without Beamer. No one is saying that there would be zero fans without him. It is true that VT has benefited from Beamer in terms of research money. No one is arguing that all funding would have mysteriously disappeared had Beamer not entered the picture. But you know what, you're right and Torgersen has no idea what he's talking about.

Got the opportunity to watch the coach and players walk to the stadium. Looked like Frank had a hard time not smiling. Fans were hugging him when he went to greet them. It is hard to see him go... I forgot the tissues today.

Not me. I'm very proud to watch him. He's a great kid, comes from a Hokie family, and has worked very hard to get where he is.
Plus, he grew up a Hokie and wanted to be one. In my eyes, he will always be a Hokie.
Btw-don't blame Greenberg. Stokes is responsible for putting us in he scholarship bind that kept us from offering him. Seth took a bullet for us.
