# | Collin Carroll discusses how much cash athletes were pocketing in old scholarship system Rehash...."Upset of Duke"...the wife is trying to get me out of the fetal position. Like what Hokie H is saying.
I stand corrected. The "bobblehead" is also a pretty good look for that logo.
Looks orange carbon fiber-ish.
Edit: But of course, the sliver turned out to be a glove.
Looks like the same picture they used for the military apprectiation helmet. Any chance they use it for this game too?
I am going to get cheap bourbon for the game. If they come out in orange anything I don't want to watch the good stuff shooting into the toilet.
Damn right... September is too early for pumpkins. Should be reserved for October / November
Ah, Giles man, before the single wing. They actually won some games during that period.
And that was an exciting time for Virginia Tech football. Would have got to see Don Strock in his Air-Henning offense (6-4-1 I think), Bruce Arians with hair, and the transition to Phil Rogers leading Jimmy Sharp's version of the wishbone (8-3 in '75).
what year was this? i graduated in 2012 and our rent for my senior year was $1,200 a month for the same set up at UT. what i would kill to pay that cheap for rent again...
That's the one!
My guess is it's a maroon helmet with the chrome orange VT we used this past year ???
I lived on Green St. Also pretty cheap. Is your user name for Intervarsity@VT?

TLJ or Coach Foster?
Clearly I am the old fart here, but how do you guys find, create post these meme and gif's so freaking fast?
Great post. I'm a 1990 graduate. I remember talking my parents into letting me go to the 1986 Peach Bowl as a freshman and my argument was: "I go to Virginia Tech...When will I ever get a chance to go to a bowl game?!"
Like others have said my low point as a fanatic was Miami '05. I got so belligerent and angry(i.e. drunk) in that loss it almost cost me a couple of very close friends. I had chugged the Kool-Aid and never contemplated we could actually lose.
I am so glad that CFB and staff are in a position to put themselves back into prominence for a second time. I would be so happy for them, the players and their hard work(not mine). This team represents every student, faculty, staff, and alumnus better than any university in the nation. If they can win on Labor Day and go UP from there, enjoy the ride. I have taught my kids that if your team is doing well, do everything you can to enjoy the moment and the ride. You NEVER know if and when it will happen again.
Barring what we can't predict, I have not been this excited for a season since '07!
Enjoy the Ride Hokies...
LET'S GO!!!
This story is on the front page of today's Richmond Times. It's legs are growing.
I'm sorry to hear that. I guess some a-holes think it's funny; but I knew someone, the engineering prof who went to OSU, killed that day and probably would not have been as restrained. I was real glad when OSU played tribute to VT afterwards.
The alumni association typically sponsors a tailgate before many, especially big, games with food, etc. and sells tickets to the event. In Columbus a number of clubs and alumni associations sponsor tailgates. Some charge or ask for donations for the food but let anyone in; others are by invitation only.
I bet every recruit the Cinci contacts is made well aware of this.
That's part of the plan, and a lot of the fun! At least when you're 22 years old.
Looking that way. I'm just salty I missed out on the black pro combat ones at the bookstore and was hoping to get a sweet new one to add to the collection.
Cue the Phoenix gifs. Would if I could.
heated waterbed
If nothing else on this site has dated you, this just did, haha. I've heard that once the waves start going it's hard to make it stop.

Oh, oh, oh. You know what I'm talking bout
Farmhouse in Giles, four bedrooms, lots of land around, $50 a month, split four ways. Commute sucked, barely heated, but I had a heated waterbed and a fireplace, so what if I could see through a few cracks in the wall. $12.50/month to live in the country, suited me fine at the time.
Edit: '72-'75

The debate has never been about "how much are athletes benefiting from the football program". It's been about "how much SHOULD athletes benefit from the football program".
