I think they pick the best head coach for their institution.

They might ask him if he'd entertain an offer at a previous institution if offered, but that's when he say's "If I accept your offer, I'm fully committed to your position." Everybody who interviews has ties to one or more communities.

Can't say it was a cord, but it was firewood, I had heard a truckload, and it was a Hokie booster that delivered it free of charge. It was a tempest in a teapot, but it was touch and go there for a while. Since he was a senior, it was over after the bowl game, but Hokie Nation was worried for a while, there.

The language used when determining what is heard as an appeal sounded a lot like the Honor System (http://honorsystem.vt.edu/HSConstitution/hs_constitution.html - Article VI, section 4).

Honor System hearings are protected by FERPA unless the student waives his right - in this case he would have even had to waive it with regards to his attorney (it's also required to discuss specifics with parents).

First offenses at Tech are never eligible for expulsion (unlike UVA - where they're required). Second convictions are automatic expulsions, regardless of how trivial the first or second offense might seem. Because of the gravity of the sanctions of a 2nd offense, we were always extra careful to make sure that every policy was followed to the letter, and were routinely in contact with the university lawyers to make sure everything followed policy (that was approved by the Board of Visitors).

Obviously I hope this isn't true but in my eyes where there is smoke there is fire. That being said there is a lot of smoke as in who it is and what the punishment might be. The most that I've seen is initials thrown out there like JB, CS, DW, and JM. This is coming from a known troll on the 11W site so take it for what it's worth but to be honest I think something will come of it, not sure what. Last time there was rumblings like this Roby and Hyde got knocked in 2013 so who knows? -_-

I did a review of Texas film in his last year and chose not to post it. My concerns based on that film were more general (lack of attention to detail on active feet/aiming points was a big issue). I openly admit that I wasn't watching closely for this tendency.

However, past struggles with setting blitz directions (case study: Boston College 2013) pre-date Searels. It would require much more input to determine accurate root cause analysis. I don't necessarily blame Searels because the scheme Wake used would be tough to see at field level. To me, Loeffler and Stiney should have been responsible for catching it and reporting down. If they did, and then Searels didn't communicate it, then he gets blame.

This isn't black or white. There are lots of factors, known and unknown here. The point of the column isn't to assign blame- it is merely to indicate that the Hokies need to improve on this facet to return to the top of the ACC.

Also notice that these tweets weren't in a row, they were seperated by almost 12 hours, which makes it read less like someone who's leaving and more like a kid with a good head on his shoulders who listens to Future (the rapper).
