You haven't heard much about Clarke because everyone expects him to be productive again this year and linebacker overall is the weakness of the defense and doesn't get the hype as a unit that the DL and Secondary get.... Then when talk turns to linebackers it zeros in on the huge question marks at Mike & Whip rather than the known quantity at Backer.

IMO Clarke is just as good a Backer as we've had since Adibi.

French gave some love to Deon after the bowl, but yeah, I agree. He played very, very well the last 5 games of last year. He's a guy who should probably be 2nd or 3rd team all-acc at the end of the year- won't eat up a lot of lineman, but is an excellent blitzer, very good in coverage, and shoots the gap pretty well in the run game.

I'm very excited about him and Chuck Clark this year. I think they both have standout years.

I keep looking for one of these. Even a t-shirt version. Would be an awesome jersey to put in a frame!!!!

Cheers! Just checked and my local Total Wine/Beer store has it, definitely will give those two a try

If you can find a Founders KBS or Goose Island Bourbon Barrel Stout, get them. Worth every penny!!

All good ones. Wish the NRV would get on the ball...

Found this while out and about at a beer bar! I had about 4 of them and wanted more. So smooth

Bud was very complimentary of Deon in the media guide.

"Both Andrew and Deon had really, really good springs," Foster said. "I thought Andrew steadily improved. He could have been one of our award winners when it was all said and done. He had that kind of spring. He just improved in all areas.

"Deon was one of our award winners [Frank O. Moseley Award as the player on defense who
exhibited the most hustle during the offseason and spring workouts]. He had a really good offseason and a really good spring. I'm counting on big things from him โ€“ from both of those guys, really โ€“ but particularly Deon because this will be his senior season."

"I think we're solid with our starters in Deon [Clarke] and Andrew [Motuapuaka], but there is a drop-off behind those two guys. I don't think talent is the issue, but certainly we lack experience behind those guys. We're going to need for those guys to grow up quickly and be consistent because you're only a play away from being the guy."

A lot of reasons...more interest in them, thus the demand is up. Easier to get the business model approved for bank loans. Ag programs backing local ingredients, even the UNC ag dept has a hops program throughout the state now. Clean water in NRV and surrounds. (New Holland-Ashville, Sierra Nevada and Oskar Blues-just south of Ashville, Stone-Richmond, Ballast Point-Richmond, Green Flash-Va Beach) can make an easy transition with recipes with the water similar to what they have out west.

And let's not forget the most important reason: it's good!
"He was a wise man that invented beer" -Plato

This is actually just the senior picture from that year but somehow I thought it fit my description.

The reason maddy may not be talked about is because it's unsure how healthy he is going to be. Last I heard he still had a bit of a limp.

I hope Clarke is able to play a bit more disciplined this year and he could have a big season. His size and strength is still a limiting factor.

idk if this is more funny or more sad that their fans arent only ok, but embracing the fact that one of their highest profile players was a thief..
