# | Safety Devante Smith Becomes Hokies' First 2017 Commit, Joining Slew of Stonewall Jackson HS Alums So what's the deal with Tim Settle?
Really feels as though we're gonna see a lot of two and three TE looks on offense this year, maybe with some hurry-up to prevent defensive substitutions. Gives a lot of flexibility to the offense being able to go 4 or even 5 wide (with McMillian in the game) on one play and then go with the power run game the next play without substitutions. Hard to key in on personnel groupings in that scenario as well.
French was also saying in his Bench talk the other day that Lulu Maddy is also a standout guy that no one is really talking about. I think the problem (and its the best problem in the world similar to anOSU's) is that this defense has so many stars, as soon as you talk a couple of them up, you're automatically leaving several more out. My suggestion, highlight the whole defense!

Saw this on the way to work this morning. I chuckled.

Look at London's expression vs Beamer's. Whose having more fun folks!!?
I think this is the first time in a while that we have a large handful of future NFL players on that defense
I imagine he had to give up his golf for about 6 months, which probably cost him a lot of sunlight and a good deal of exercise that he normally got to look a little more filled out. He was usually out at BCC like 3 or 4x a week during the spring and summer. Throat surgery probably kept him from getting a full rotation and extension on his swing.
Welcome aboard!
Would you have said that if Wake Forest beats us last year then they would roll Syracuse, UVA, or perhaps UNC or Duke? There is no transitive property in football.
^^^^This!
Great to see the young man commit so early! It will be interesting to see if he stays committed when other come calling.
I agree. I dont see why Park would come here, or anywhere, unless he truly believes he is going to win the job. As you mentioned, he could be a backup at UGA.

99AgHokie got it right.
I tried, but nothing funny came to mind. Maybe "dat ass"?
He would be a great addition to the 16th at Phoenix.
Yeah I'm interested to see how they do without Chad Morris. Every game they played he was talked up a lot and seems to be the key to that teams success. I don't know who replaced him but we'll see. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Atlantic be just like the coastal usually is and have everyone beating everyone else and have some wierd tiebreaker to get to the ACCCG.
Once I know how much room is left there will be some Miller Lite in there, for nostalgia.

# | Frank Beamer: "It's good knowing you've got the best indoor facility in the country." Looks like somebody needs a time out!
(oops, reply to BeatUva)
where are you in Rosslyn? I live in River Place..just curious
CML: "What the hell, Frank! Do you have Hardee's for breakfast??!!"
CFB: "Those sausage biscuits...they'll get after ya!"
What, no pabst blue ribbon.../s
FSU has just as many question marks as Clemson. As of right now (pending resolution of Dalvin Cook's suspension) FSU lost their QB from last year, 3 of their top 4 rushers including their top 2, 4 of their top 6 receivers including their top 2, and 4 offensive lineman- almost all of which won accolades. They have a grand total of 2/3 returning starters on offense and only return 5 starts on OL, which is probably the lowest number among power 5 teams.
An inconsistent defense that was mediocre at times lost 4 of its best 5 players and all of their linebackers were out this spring with injury.
I'm not sure that anyone can be declared a clear favorite in the ACC. Feels like a lot of teams are gonna be bunched up in the 20s through 40s range in the rankings.

No need to defend Kyle, I wasn't trying to take a shot. I think he's great. I listen to his show daily. I think he's a real talent and we're lucky to have him in the NRV.
But... to me personally, x's and o's over sports accounting any day.
