Per ACC rules we can take 1 non-qualifier JUCO graduate per season. That means in 2 years we can take Adonis Williamson as a true Junior (3 years to play 2). We cannot take both Williams and Whitehead in the same year.
That is of course assuming he graduates from his JUCO with an Associates Degree and meets VT admissions requirements.
Also, from the H.S. coach's comments it sounded like Williamson was still fully on board the VT train, and JUCO was basically described as just a little delay. The HS coach comments about Whitehead were not so optimistic, in two ways 1) he said Whitehead needed to mature (presumably he's struggled a lot with prioritizing academics) to be successful and 2) he did not mention VT as a future destination when talking about Whitehead.
I agree if anyone is being over hyped its clemson 10000%. they lost 80% of their 2 deep for o line....
I think FSU will be just fine and win Atlantic for sure, if mcguire doesn't get it done early on Golson will start and pick up right where crab legs left off.
I think out 1st O-line group is great and hope to god we can stay healthy. We have the talent and lefty seems to be excited but like any team a couple injury's and the rest is chaos control.

Clemson's D lost a ton of key contributors. I can see NC State putting up 40 on them. Sure Clemson has the horses to score 40-50 right back, but I think NC State has a legit chance.
Against us however, they're going to get locked down to <20 points and I like our offense's chances to score 30 on them. Then again I'm putting a decent amount of faith in Teller & Co.
I never understood why on Tuesday's I had to listen to Keith Welton on my drive home. Do it at 400 because at 500 I could not give a shit less about Accounting and how it pertains to sports after a day at work.
I am glad that I have a second good show that I can choose from now.
I guess an analogy would be Michael Brewer coming to VT rather than Clemson -- and Brewer already had a close relationship with Chad Morris. Morris and Brewer both knew it wouldn't be the best decision for him (or Clemson) to go to Clemson (with Clemson having their QB of the future) and Morris pointed him to VT.
If Park was happy with being a back-up, he could just stay at Georgia. I imagine he'll ultimately end up somewhere with a real QB issue, not a "you never know" one.

1) Single-game tickets never go on sale to the general public more than a month prior to the game
2) Official word is that any remaining seats will be made available to Hokie Club members, then season ticket holders before being sold to the general public.
3) Whit Babcock implemented partial season ticket plans last season to help sell tickets, and you can bet any remaining OSU tickets will be packaged with Furman and an ACC game, like Duke when put on sale for the general public... Or maybe 2 ACC games. Making the total cost $110 + 45 + 60 ($215) or $110 + 60 + 60. ($230)
Honestly your best bet is to buy season tickets. $350 for OSU and 5 other games that will easily get you $150+ if resold.

Sending four kids to play at Virginia Tech (eventually)? Sounds like good ole common sense to me.
Fortunately (or unfortunately, take your pick) the crack house was demolished this year and replaced with a nice little two-story place.

You're probably correct in this particular circumstance, but IIRC the JUCO transfer rule is more complex than that. And the rules are different for someone who has attended a 4 yr institution before attending JUCO.
I may not have the details exactly correct, but IIRC in order to be scholarship eligible immediately upon transfer, academic qualifiers only need to attend 1 semester of JUCO.
Non-academic qualifiers (which I'm assuming is the case here) need to obtain their associates degree, attend at least 3 semesters and meet some other requirements (which are likely met if they get their degree) in order to be scholarship eligible upon transfer.

NC State is my darkhorse for Atlantic Division champ. Brissett and their RB duo of Thornton and Dayes are all elite talents and they have 3/5 OL returning. All comes down to whether the 8 returning starters on their defense can step up their game.
They open with a really light OOC schedule, which while it won't temper them in the hot flames of playing a preseason #1, it will give them time to get everything in sync on O and D.
Then they get Louisville and Clemson at home.
They do have to play us and FSU on the road but I think FSU is vulnerable this season, and NCSU played them really close last year.
If they can take down Clemson I think they'll win the Atlantic with a 7-1 ACC record (losing to us in Blacksburg of course)
My first year was '05, but my sister went down in 2003. The first party I ever went to at VT was in the crackhouse. I was a Junior in high school and in way over my head. The sketchiest/best first VT experience ever.

But yeah, they can be dangerous. My brother almost blinded my sister with one of those when they were little. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere about Teller being dangerous...

I don't know...he hedged quite a bit last year - even after the OSU win. IIRC (and I'm paraphrasing big time), he said the team could be good, but needed to improve. He was right, but injuries derailed any really opportunity to get better.
He also said last year that this year's team would be good. One could argue that he said that as an emotional rationalization after the Miami loss, but I don't recall him EVER saying that before.
I personally had Stacey Searels recently say essentially the same thing to me as Beamer said. And my sense from hearing Bud Foster also speak recently is that he has a quite confidence about this team.

I think he works hard for success this year and next, stays through 2016 so he has 30 years, gets to coach the Highest Attended College Football Game in History, and sees the program on better footing for the transition to 2017. 2016 as his farewell tour so to speak.
