Razzano was a real steal out of high school which I guess was because of his height (short) and weight (light). He packed on the pounds quick and took it from there. That 1975 team went 8-3 and IMHO deserved a bowl game more than many others. Razzano hooked on with a couple of pro teams (Packers/Bengals??) and that might have been because of the head coach for both teams (said coach's name I can't recall). My brother saw him play in Chicago and said it was funny seeing this little guy line up as linebacker behind a row of behemoths.

FYI if interested in pre-Beamer times was Tom Beasley, Raz' teammate, who played defensive lineman in the last two of the Steeler's Super Bowl's of that era. And while I'm at it, the punter then, '76/'77, George Roberts punted four years at Miami ? and definitely San Diego. You don't normally hear about these guys.

Well, in anOSU's case, the injury bug bit pretty hard. They lost a 2 time Big 10 player of the year QB, replaced him, went 11-1, lost him, replaced him with another QB, who won the BIG 10 title game, playoff game, and NCG. That is some attrition at a key position, they just overcame it.

When a teenager lied to multiple college students about her age online and in-person, it is a classic case of people being catfished. Shai Mckenzie is as much a victim as she is. President Obama is right, the US criminal justice system is a disgrace. For once, Virginia Tech student conduct committee got it right by clearing Mckenzie of any wrongdoing.

Wouldn't this make us DarkHorseOnATreadmill? Not the horse we deserve but the horse that we need.

Wow, that's incredible. It's before my time so I'd never even heard of Razzano but the the Hokie record books also say that in 1975 against Richmond, he had 21 unassisted tackles! Boss.

VT Defensive Records

If that's the case, where do you stand on the hit Jarrett laid on Devin Street? And do you think the refs would flag it if that happened this year?

No. Just no. Let's shoot for 10 wins. That would be in the "great improvement" division of the Dewey Decimal System that is VT football. One game at a time and go from there. I'm all for hype, and for some reason I bite on it every year, but thanks to Bama, ECU, JMU, Wake, Boise, Michigan, LSU, Stanford, Kansas, Cal, FSU, etc. etc. etc. I will now focus on our who's on the schedule next. And currently that is OFFSEASON, who has not been kind.

That garbage ECU article that GobblerCountry ran last year and then sanctimoniously defended while insulting everyone that criticized it soured me on the whole site entirely. I haven't been back since.

What a glorious game. I watched that one next to my family's-had-Skins-season-tickets-since-the-40s freshman year roommate. He was very angry that night.

I looked it up over the last nine years, to see if there was any precedence for a 7-6 team to get into the national title picture: http://cfarena.blogspot.com/2015/07/national-champions-how-they-fared.html

We had Auburn and Notre Dame go from 8-5 to playing for a title. But that Auburn jump was Cam Newton. There was also Auburn going from 3-9 to 12-2, but that was Malzahn putting out a heck of a dumpster fire.

Granted, I didn't take a look at the likely #3 and 4 teams from 2006-2013, which might give us a clearer idea. Although, I was really hoping to see some other teams with drastic improvement show up in the list.

If any reporter used the phrase "prison sentence", it was bad reporting. A 15 day sentence is not something that you go to prison for.

All the reports I saw said that he would spend 15 days in jail. As I said above, jail is not prison, which should be a key difference in language that reporters should understand.

Expelled means expelled

Was it ever officially reported that Reavis was expelled? All I ever heard was that he is no longer enrolled which I thought could happen if you had a semester/year suspension from the university. Does anyone know from experience?

I had a day like that with my dad and his old timers on the Rappahannock River many moons ago. Many of the old guys hadn't remembered a day that hot with no breeze in a while. Caught a lot of croakers that day but not much spot. And occasionally a too small to keep flounder.

He doesn't realize it's an enforceable rule.

On 3rd downs *(defensive), if you do not make as much noise as possible, you get thrown out and the next student in line is allowed in.
