Good choice! Those things were my fav in mechwarrior 3, think they were called dire wolves at one point?

Most keepers are like that....trust me I was one. You shout and scream a lot because you're directing the entire field, particularly the defense and youve gotta hold players accountable. Add crowd noise to that and you have to scream A LOT. 90% of the time after a game I'd be exhausted whether I'd make 5 saves or 15 just from yelling so much

You know, I agree with that. He did what he loved as long as he could, not a bad way to wrap it all up.

Now you are stretching. I would like you to provide a single reputable source saying the team has purposely gone into an ECU game not trying to win and doing all they can, not a speculative post, an actual quote from a player or coach.

Hell last year we tied the record for all time pass attempts in a VT game. Do you think we would have done that if we didnt want to tip to the rest of the ACC just how shaky our run game was after the much more balanced game the week before at tOSU?

I think regardless of the outcome it's entirely possible that both teams will end up in their respective conference's CG. I certainly expect tOSU to make it to theirs...I'm cautiously optimistic that VT will make it to the ACCCG but I'm not nearly as confident

EDIT: I guess what I'm trying to say is that both of these teams are going to be pretty good. I think if tOSU wins they'll be undefeated in the regular season. I think if VT wins they will have a 9 or 10 win season with a couple head-scratcher losses

VT got dissed all over the place last year. Part of it was untimely breaks, part injury, and part just head scratchers. They did prove they were up to the task in the OSU game, though. They've got plenty of motivation to repeat this year.

There is no question that OSU is also going to come in pretty fired up.

It should be a good game, but one of these teams is going to get a couple of fortunate turns of events, and show up with the better game plan, and I'm really hoping it's VT. Even if that happens, there's no guarantee that VT would win. OSU is chocked with both talent and good coaching.

I hate to see someone work so hard to get to retirement and pass shortly after. My condolencess to the family

Yah, I generally feel that way too. But Id like to think that he truly enjoyed his job and that his illness would have prevented him from really enjoying a "retirement". Maintaining his position of Athletic Director probably helped him live a more fulfilling end of life. RIP, Mr. Weaver.

Ohio State's biggest weakness will not be personell, but things like dealing with complacency, the burden of #1, team unity given the 3 QB situation. etc. I think how they deal with that will determine their season.

Usually, when you don't have significant issues that you know about before the season starts, the problems you find during the season are not the minor ones you expected.

We don't care enough about ECU to break out all the stops against them on an annual basis. We may know their tendencies, but we only go into these games with half a playbook running only the most vanilla plays to not show anything before the ACC slate. Whereas ECU doesn't have that issue, because we're the team that they would be holding those kind of plays for.

the ONLY good thing I can come with about this series is that we play a game in North Carolina ever year. if the ACC hadn't screwed up our schedule so Duke & UNC were on the same rotation, we wouldn't need to schedule ECU so much. (2015: away@ECU, home vs UNC, & Dook.. and NC State FFS)
