If only Brad Stevens was fired from the Celtics in the next month of so. I wonder if he would want to come back and coach college hoops. ACC would be a great fit for him.

I think the die hard students will go and it would attract some of people from Roanoke that may not normally come. Plus knowing the situation, I'm sure the team would schedule most of the OOC as away games, so it would really only affect the 9 or whatever number it is at that time conference games. They could probably even play at Radford.
Perhaps a radical thought - but why not hire a coach with vague but desirable values (Hard working, loves winning, doesn't cheat, good character) and let him help shape the culture at VT
Because the 3rd floor people don't like radical thoughts and things that go against the grain. This is southwest VA we are talking about. Change tends to happen slow around here and they don't like people who aren't personable. Also, I don't think a basketball coach is going to shape the culture of Virginia Tech as a whole. Whoever it may be, may foster a certain culture within the basketball program, but that pretty much limits them to Hahn/Hurst practice facility and Cassell on gamedays.

If they wrestle like they did in the ACCs, I'd say anywhere from 4 to 6 All-Americans. Pre-injury, I would have even said Carter would challenge for the title at 141. As it is, I'd say Dance, Gustafson, Carter, Neibert, Vetterlein, Penny and Walz have the best chance of being in the group. Moon just isn't quite on that level and Gabel is coming off a knee injury that made him seem pretty rusty at the ACCs.
Next years squad is going to be even deeper with guys coming off red-shirts and people getting healthy. Good shot at a 3 peat in the ACC.
I've got an ez-up and a good sized grill that I can pack quite a number of chicken wings onto.
Also a very large cooler for cooling beverages and such. I might have some tables stashed as well...

A little off topic but am I the only one who thinks VCU has the most annoying fanbase in the country? I mean when Hokie Sports announced JJ was being fired on twitter some VCU fan started trashing Tech and called it a step down from VCU without any Tech fan saying anything and when a Tech fan disagreed he automatically called him arrogant. Why do they hate Tech so much? I never have understood. I live in Richmond and they constantly trash Tech all over the local radio.

I hate having to choose Iowa or Tennessee to advance. I can see Tennessee winning a game or two, but if Iowa wins the play-in game I don't know.
PS, I have Wichita State over Florida in the final. This is different than my billion dollar bracket, which I'm not going to share because I'm greedy and don't want to split the billion dollars. When I win the billion though, I'm going to buy Stadium Woods so we can finally build the damn practice facility, and pay for Metallica to play Enter Sandman live.

I think Amaker ends up at BC.

The short term pain for all fans would benefit the university as a whole and the basketball program specifically for probably the next 30 years and we are going to use upsetting a year or two of fan participation that's already at the lowest point in at least a decade as the reason to not do it?
If that really becomes the final hurdle than they would need to find somewhere else on campus to hold the games (Fieldhouse is the first that comes to mind) They play college basketball games on aircraft carriers and other outlandish places these days. Universities replace arena's all the time too so I am sure that Whit would have access to how they managed.
