Hopefully that's Whit's approach - Swift. Dragging things out and waiting til others report is no way to go about a firing.
Cronin strikes me as a whiny wannabe tough guy, plus dude is from Cincy, not sure we have the pull to lure him away.
IDK, Ford - Phillips - and Holland - are players. I think they can compete for starting roles. All I know is it is freakin awesome to see the WR position so wide open and up for grabs. I think the air attack is going to get a major upgrade this season. Booya!
Cliff Ellis won't be going anywhere. At 68 years old, I think he's content with the program he's building at Coastal. In the Big South, though, a name to keep an eye on is Pat Kelsey at Winthrop. He's a former Wake Forest assistant under Skip Prosser and also was an assistant at Xavier.
At only 38 years old, he's a young guy who is extremely passionate and has won wherever he's gone.

I don't want our program to sniff around anywhere near Bruce Pearl. I don't care how good of a coach he is. It's one thing to commit a violation, it's a whole other thing to lie about it and try to cover it up (and encourage a kid and his family to lie, as well). No, thank you.
It was already a dumpster fire. This is our New AD taking control of the situation, and (hopefully) starting over and doing things right from the beginning. It's refreshing.
Off my list above, I still hold to going after Kellogg or Lonergan depending on the available budget.
Best of luck to JJ. He was dealt a shitty hand, but was in way over his head. It will be interesting to see Whit hires. I would love for us to be relevant in bball again. This is one of the best times of the year, and now we aren't even remotely close to a bubble team.
Tough deal for JJ. I'm kind of conflicted but not so much as to shed a tear to see him leave. I'm just wondering who actually wants to run this program. Lots of young talent but no pedigree of success. Sure do miss Seth right about now.
Honestly didn't think this would happen. Thanks for the effort JJ. Looking forward to seeing how Whit moves forward, who we interview and how much we pay. This will set the tone for the future of the athletic department. Looking forward (although somewhat anxiously) to what will happen next.

Just let coach Bud Foster take the helm for now. Put Sam Rogers on the team. Then hire a good legal team to handle subsequent personal injury suits.

I agree... Just ready to hear everyone talk about the most unrealistic coaches and then be disappointed when we hire the right guy.

Feel bad for Coach Johnson
He's a good guy. He's a REALLY good guy, and he's a good coach. He very well could end up being one of the coaching greats a couple decades down the road. But was put in an absolute no-win situation when he was offered to be our head coach. He either says 'yes' and takes over a program with a lame duck AD, a roster gutted of talent, and all the other stuff we have gone over before. But then again, if you're a coaching prospect, you DON'T say no when the ACC comes calling.
Best of luck to him in the future, and to us fans, all I have to say is that in this case its best to let it go. If he goes elsewhere and has them rolling in the NCAA tournament with 5-10 years, we shouldn't have whimsy of what could have been. Remember just how bad things are now and just take the future as it comes.
Not usually that kind of stuff right before the race but in the days and nights prior to it.
People take the week off and come in with campers for a week before a race.
