I say someone should put together a powerpoint like that one guy did using EA NCAA logic, only this time use NBA logic.

I was the SGA President back in '09-10 who helped start the Cassell Guard. I also was the student who started the first ever Hokies on Fire Blackout.
I don't think the author realizes how difficult all of this is to get started. Students don't have a "section" because alumni pay for preferred seating.
To get 20 people in guaranteed seating (The Cassell Guard) took...years.
There's a lot more than just an e-mail and a blog post to actually make some of this stuff happen.
For you to say, "Do away with the Cassell Guard" is insulting and ignorant, honestly. They do organize cheers and they are responsible for getting the student section riled up. The idea came from Texas A&M's Aggie Yell Leaders. It's important to have "leaders" of a section, because guess what, we aren't Duke. We don't have loyal basketball fans.
But...but...TEs
Not to mention there is the potential for putting any Fuller at Quarterback.
I think we have to let him go. Sooner rather than later. Let's rebuild, with an AD who understands basketball.

I'm all for each of them having a chance. But I think the best outcome for the team is for Brewer to come in and win the job because that gives CSL a full two years to prep Ford/Durkin/McMillan. Obviously that means that Brewer has to be better than the rest -- I wasn't suggesting that he be given the job just because that makes the timing optimal.
Why are we not talking about firing the Quidditch head coach? I will not stand idly by and watch our Quidditch team struggle. This is possibly more important to me than the fate of James Johnson.
Really nobody in that movie is right. Seriously. Everyone is wrong on some level.
I think the best way to help Tech in the long run is to keep JJ another year. We have a bad name with coaches because of the Greenburg thing. If the team has another cellar dweller year, then we have a much easier explanation as to why the split with JJ. That would help Whit with future coaches and recruits.
That being said, I completely see what youre saying about recruiting. Players usually commit for a coach. If they win early and often, the prospects will be likely to keep coming for visits. If not, we can hope that the new hire can bring some of his guys to Blacksburg immediately
I wouldn't be disappointed, I would be shocked. It would be an egregious decision.

Man, that description fits well with the Walmart Florida Gator, Walmart Seminole, and Walmart Hurricane fans down here in Florida. They are dominantly arrogant idiots with a low IQ (especially on sports) and blabber about their dominance constantly, regardless of recent records.
My real beef with Taken is how unlikable his daughter is--She was such a spoiled and unappreciative little wretch. I'm not saying I was rooting against her per se, but if there was ever a movie character who deserved some forced time on a sheikh's pleasure yacht, she'd be the one.
Coach M needs to get in some photo ops.
I don't think loosing Eddie hurts. He was too inconsistent and not a Sr leader. We have some good shooters coming in, we must keep them as VT commits and we must grow the leadership from the remaining players from this year. Someone, Someone!, has to step up as the team leader next year. The pick of Emologu (sp) as Team Captain was also not a wise move based on this year's body of work (not his fault, IMHO). Perhaps that can help grow the leadership within the team for next year...
I truly think that this past year's team had no senior leadership, and that was a contributing team issue.
We could hire Phil Jackson as president of basketball operations. I hear he is looking for a job. oh wait..
