How do we keep end up getting awesome families in Hokietown? The Fullers, Sam Roger's brother apparently saves everyone from all the fires, and now this. #recruitingjustgotreal

Oh man, pork crackling is one of my all time favorites. I eat far too much of it, but yeah the idea is the same. Even if you are making a soup or salad. Instead of crackers or croutons, use some crispy chicken skin or pork crackling for the crunch. It add a hell of a lot more flavor too.

Try New England Clam Chowder with pork crackling. Amazing.

I hope that after Spring the coaching staff can narrow it down a little bit. Definitely no way it's down to less than 3 of course, but i guess that would at least be on the right track.

I feel like i should be more excited that we have a battle royal for QB coming up!! I think it's just because there are too many QBs to keep track of and no idea who to root for. But you know i'll be yelling for whoever is under center come this fall!!

Grilled chicken is a whole 'nother animal! I love it all. You have a similar route as me with grilled chicken sandwich heaven. Would love to try it.

A suggestion from my kitchen for you to try: BBQ Grilled Fried Chicken Sandwich.

Brine then grill one chicken with your favorite BBQ sauce. I make my own. When I BBQ it I like to make sure there is a little bit of char on there. Then with skin from 2 chicken legs, that you carefully peel off, wrap around your BBQ'd chicken. Bread it (I usually add some spice in my breading), then flash fry so the skin and breading cooks quickly without overcooking the finish BBQ'd chicken inside.

Top with your regular slaw, onions, etc. Grilled bun. Garlic Mayo.

You have the sweetness of the BBQ under the salty goodness of fried skin. The moistness of BBQ chicken filet under the crunch of the savory, spicy outer wrapping.

Perfection. And for me, trimmed to the correct size is just about a 1/4 inch out of the bun on all sides so that the toppings have a edge to squirt out onto when I bite into it.

I speak a little on this as a Richmond native...to be blunt, the talent of the prep league is significantly lower than the public schools. There are always a couple of notable exceptions (i.e. Russell Wilson & Danny Coale but even they were 2-stars coming out). If you're recruiting philosophy is hinged on schools like Collegiate/St.Chris/WFU/STAB, you're pretty fucked.

Then again, I do like the attitude of a lot of those kids who coming out of the private schools. The majority have their head on straight, hard working and are goal-driven, but of course there are notable exceptions (I have examples in my head but I want to keep it classy).

I think the biggest indicator will be Leal. If he isn't the clear #1 at the end of spring camp, I'd bet he will transfer. He has graduated and has 1 year left, so I could see him transferring somewhere he could see the field.

I hope he doesn't (and plays out of his mind this spring), but honestly couldn't blame him if he does.

Mine, I don't bread the chicken but slice the breast in half, to make it evenly thick. You could pound it out as well (Ok, guys keep it safe for work.) and then trim it to the correct size for a bun.

Brine it for 30 minutes to an hour in a mix of kosher salt, brown sugar and pepper dissolved in water.
For heat you have some options. I like a good saute in a cast iron skillet but grilling it is fantastic as well.

Grill the bun for a bit to stiffen the inside and help it stand up to the watery juices.
Spread a little homemade mayo on both sides. Have your choice of flavors when you make it yourself but 2 seem to be a favorite, a plain or garlic mayo with chili oil and a mayo made with lots of Colemann's dry mustard powder.
Top it with broccoli slaw (or sauerkraut), sauted onion and nice crunchy longway slice of kosher dill pickle like from a deli or Vlasic.

The mayo and grilling on the bun is important, it serves the purpose of the butter at Chik-fil-a, the fat keeps the juice from the sandwich contents from making the roll a soggy mess.

If you go to one of their secret fishing or hunting locations you get "Bradshawed". If you've seen the show, you know what I mean.

This statement says a lot about this QB scenario:

I'd say best-case scenario with Brewer, he wins the starting job and helps get Virginia Tech's offense turned around. Worst-case scenario, he doesn't win the job but still offers a decent insurance policy in case something happens to the starter.

Also, from a point someone else made: When was the last time we had an open real QB competition? It was Glennon vs Tyrod! Wow, that seems ages ago. It was clear that LT3 was taking TTs spot after he completed that 3rd and 16 pass against Miami! No doubt after that rocket 1st down (and hence no real competition)!

well unfortunately temperatures stayed a little to high down here, a majority of the snow has already passed and temperatures were to high for to much accumulation, the water on the roads may freeze over tonight still, so drive safe anyway, this one kinda petered out on us...definitely still a little more on its way, but national weather service is shooting 1-3" I definitely got bitten by the euro this time around... my bad folks!!! still learning here

She's confused by the pickle flavor in the chicken sandwich. Doesn't put 2 and 2 together and realize that, it's from the pickle that's on the sandwich.

Doesn't have to be overnight but, you are completely spot on regarding the brine.
Don't try just for Chic-fil-a goodness, aim higher.

Are we STILL on this!? As far as I'm concerned it's pretty much case closed. Stiney is no longer OC, somebody better and more efficient (Loeffler) is. Dead issue.

THIS. Bud is king, but honestly or DE's are OLBs and our OLBs are safeties. And recruits know it.

Our scheme produces monster D every year and wins, but it does not produce a plethora of NFL players at either of these positions.

I have Motley taking it and losing to Brewer in the Semis. McMillian comes out of nowhere and beats Leal only to fall to Brewer in the Finals.
It was a great tourney

All of this, plus I would add that despite having what we know to be an inferior coaching staff on offense, the team was still winning 10 a season and championships. Almost any program in the nation would kill for that. It takes some serious balls to clean the slate in the midst of that run.

Loyalty got us those ten win seasons and ACCCG wins. Kept the bowl streak alive. Loyalty also got us to 2012 where the wheels came off, but when it did Beamer cleaned house and restocked. This is exactly how it should have happened from a business stand point. From a fan stand point it's different. We all want our favorite offense whatever it may be but the point of the "fire stinespring" fervor was essentially that we wanted it to be more productive, that's all.

I personally wished for a new OC as well, but I understand Beamer's perspective and don't fault him for it.
