Good stuff. Nice to see the Lady Hokies finish someone off.
Few new tweets added to the OP that came out today on Thomas and Fuller. Got to love that Kyle is gunning to beat Corey's 4.37 40 time.
Exum making a name for himself at the combine ala Richard Sherman, claiming he is the best overall CB in the draft.
you could describe blacksburg on a cold windy day as brick.
stanford agrees.
Results from other drills not listed:
Three-Cone Drill: 7.05 secs (4th, behind Lynch, Manziel, and a .01 sec behind Garoppolo)
Shuttle: 4.18 secs (2nd, behind Manziel)
Couldn't't make it.
I need to find a way to know about this stuff further ahead of time.
Apparently Exum claimed he was the best CB in the draft and Justin Gilbert (OK State DB) said he didn't even know who Exum was. Gilbert said the same thing about Patriots DB Aqib Talib.
Dear Mr. Gilbert,

It's not. I wanted to use Rackspace, but when I compared prices they lost by a wide margin to our current host.

Though I wish the rule weren't being put in place, his 4 corners comparison does make sense. The 4 corners offense was designed to slow the game down, yes, however, the idea behind it was simply handicapping the other team. If the other team didn't have the ball, they couldn't score. It wasn't as much a game of basketball as it was a game of keep away. I understand his comparison. The reason I disagree with his comparison is that the hurry up offense, while yes, it does wear the defense down, and yes this does give an offense an advantage, I think it is successful largely due this: When you give fast, athletic guys 50 chances to score over the course of a game, they may score a few times. When you give them 100 chances to score, in theory, they'll score twice as many times. With the idea that the team with the most points wins, this strategy is one that is valuable to many teams, especially those with weaker defenses. I know we have a defense first team here at Tech, and so we favor that, and that's okay. I don't have a problem with the way our team plays. But I also don't have a problem with the way Oregon plays. In some ways, it does hinder the other team....but if the other team would do a better job of conditioning, or simply stop the offense in three plays, then they wouldn't have to worry about it.
You could use it to inspire catchy 70's anthems describing women who are 'mighty, mighty...just lettin' it all hang out.'
I just wrote down a list of things to do with a brick and although I could go on for hours it turns out 3/4 of the them are illegal or not kosher. It seems he took the PC way.
True, but Manziel's real strength is is lateral quickness. Also, I think this says more about Logan's athleticism and explosiveness than it is a knock on Manziel. Watching Johnny get out of impossibly dangerous situations and make people miss in open space is nothing short of spectacular. He's not like Vick, who could get to the edge, turn on the jets and burn everyone down the field (Mountaineers, anyone?).
If you were a LOLuva qb going against Foster's D, you could shit a brick
Oh I wasn't saying that. But isn't the 40 more about how fast you get up to speed, not necessarily how fast your top speed is?
With NFL games and multiple college games ... the Thurs Night billing is not what it used to be ...hopefully Whit can bring back some of the top notch excitement for Thurs NIGHT home games! GO HOKIES!
And is the co-location/hosting done with Rackspace for the "hometown" feeling?
So, to recap.
He's the largest QB, the fastest, can jump higher and jump farther than any other QB.
He throws very well but needs a little more time with a technique coach.
He's very durable, starting every game since he won the QB spot, was VTs best RB his 3rd year and holds all kinds of records at one of the nations best teams in the past 2 decades.
In my opinion, if he can get a coach and get under somebodies wing for 2 years before moving to a starting QB, he'll make some waves in the NFL.
Being lazy and not wanting to goodle it, what's SPARQ?
Manziel definitely has more wiggle, but Logan ain't slow.
Good for Logan!!!!!!!
For those of you who aren't on the twitter:
Former NFL coach Steve Mariucci agrees that Thomas is project but likes his potential. Called him mid-rd pick. Mayock says 5th-6th. #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) February 23, 2014
Mayock didn't like Thomas' footwork. Called it "lazy." But said ball still comes out "beautifully." #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) February 23, 2014
Update on the Underwear Olympics. Logan Thomas also first for QBs in high jump (35.5") and broad jump (118"). #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) February 23, 2014
Official 40 times out for the QBs: Logan Thomas had the fastest of the group at 4.61 seconds. Johnny Manziel at 4.68. #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) February 23, 2014
Looks like he had highest vertical and longest broad jump of QB's as well.
His footwork is bad but in the right system and coaching, I believe he will florish. I wish Loeffler would have had more time with him.

logan is doing nothing but helping his draft stock. this is awesome. think about a 250 pound man barreling down on you at that speed and with legs that strong. ugh. somebody's gonna fall in love with all that athleticism and power and i wouldnt be surprised at all if he went 2nd or 3rd round.
