The commentators said it was a "contact technical foul," and they assumed it was because his arm brushed against the NC St player when the ref got tangled between both and pushed the NC St guy back. JVZ looked as confused as anyone. Homerism aside, there was nothing that went on there that merited a technical unless someone threw out some nasty trash talk about someone else's mother.
Not that we care what Tennessee does, but when they announced that they had sold out their first 40,000 allotment of tickets, they stated that they put 5,000 tickets aside that they would issue to students in 2016.
I know this doesn't really answer your question about student tickets, but I am going to attach a link for anyone that hasn't read the Battle At Bristol info on hokiesports. I have yet to see any info for purchasing tickets for students but if I do, I will post it.
I know when I go with my girlfriend to visit her family in the Tidewater region a lot of sports retailers have a lot of Tech stuff. I also see a lot of people and cars with Tech stuff, way more than any other school. I don't live there so it may not be the case, but I think a Tech store would do really well in that area. I know there is a huge alumni base in and around that area.

Even standard companies ask this kind of odd question in job interviews these days. Great piece in the NYT last year about some of the unorthodox questions a lot of tech and financial firms ask.

I've been happy with our performance the last few games, there's clearly effort and JJ is coaching like his job is on the line (because, well, it is). Hopefully we can keep it up, but Duke is a different challenge altogether.
One a side note I didn't want to start a new thread for this but this has really been bugging me. Do people actually believe UVA is a top 15 team? To me they're no better than 23 or 24. Their best win this year is probably SMU (who dropped out of the top 25), and they have no wins against the current top 25. They're 14-1 in conference, but the ACC isn't that good this year. Pitt is gonna be fighting just to get us 5 teams in the tournament. I just don't see it when I watch them play, just wanted to know if anyone else is noticing that.
