Samantha Ponder was at Liberty around the same time I was there, don't think I ever met her though.
I thought it was known early on that we had no shot at Brown. But I do see your point. I am not trying to get my hopes up here, but hopefully with Stroman putting the full court press on him Sweat will pick the good guys.
I agree with where you place it in the spectrum of shows. BB and GoT both came to mind, as well as The Sopranos (which drug on the last few years) and Deadwood and Lost. I've never seen The Wire and am saving that up for a summer mass screening. I would put X-Files, Twin Peaks and Mad Men in the next category.
But an excellent point, this show will not have an opportunity to get stale. Maybe that's the new model, that this is really a 4 part movie (8 hours) as opposed to The X Files which ran for 9 years at 15 shows a year and 45 minutes each, over 100 hours of screen time....then they did a bad movie on top of it!
I would agree that this is stronger than AHS, which generally seems to loose its way 3/4 the way through. I really have no idea how Coven ended this year, I lost interest by the end.
I think I can see where TD is going. The beauty of Cohle's work previously is that he balances his addictions in his undercover life so beautifully with the sharpness of his mind. I'm sure he's gone 10 years off the map, drinking and shooting up his way into the underbelly of rural LA to try to become one of them, which isn't going to go over well with the new detectives. Unless, of course, they totally throw us off track.

We do have a journalism major however which ultimately can be translated into sports journalism. Just look at Colin Carroll. He is a sports journalist now.

JJ just doesn't know how to coach a half-court offense. I know the whole "He wants to run up-tempo" argument or the "everyone is injured" argument. But you still need to be able to run a a half-court offense. It'd be one thing if we were getting open looks off our "plays" and our guys just weren't talented enough to hit them consistently. But we have guys standing still for most of the 35 seconds. In that game against Miami on Saturday how many possessions came down to the last 5 seconds with someone just jacking it up to beat the shot clock? I think JJ got a raw deal with the timing of the Greenberg firing, but the evidence is there that he just isn't a very good coach. It's definitely unfair to him for us to fire him after this season, but there's no reason to wait another year for what is blatantly obvious right now.

Congrats to them, I'm sure that wasn't an easy task. If my memory serves me right the ESPN preview of last season briefly showed Facyson and Edmunds being tutored, cool to see the behind the scene stuff get rewarded.
Kind of like last season, when we were penciling in a defensive line rotation of Hand, Nnandi, Brown and Holmes for 2015.
I'll watch some of the game if its close, but:
let's blow the whole thing up, conference affiliation included (just for football), throw all 66 "BCS" football programs into a pot (including Notre Dame and BYU). Take applications for 6 more programs (academies, Boise St, etc). break them into 8 9 team divisions/districts based on geography, rivalries, and history, play 8 district games leaving 4 games to play against ANY Division 1 opponent (to protect annual rivalry games). Never more than 6 home games can be scheduled.
after 12 games, the 8 division champs host the 8 division runners up (never against a division opponent, seeding done by committee which is why the 4 non-district games are still relevant).
so after 13 games you would be left with an 8 team playoff (i would recommend playing at home sites for quarterfinals at a minimum). 2 teams playing 1 more game than they are today.
for money, they would agree for rev sharing to give all 72 teams an equal cut of the reg season TV money and could then tier the sharing for the playoffs similar to how the NCAA pays out the bball money. in the end, i would think the 14 SEC schools would take in as much as they do today, if not more, and since they are still in the SEC for all other sports, they could share the money equally or however they wanted to do it.
highly unlikely, as it would require A LOT of collaboration and trust, but it would be pretty cool IMO....

I just wish we could change the terminology: when a junior says, "I think I'll go to Tech!" we should call that a statement of intent, not a commitment. When National Signing Day rolls around and a senior signs a letter that says he's going to Tech, we should call that a letter of commitment, not a letter of intent.
