I totally agree, at 12-1, its really beat-down territory. What I like about LT3 and Tyrod is that they finished their VT careers undefeated against LOLUVA. Im really hoping the current squad could carry on with the beat down.

Flowers, Loria, Hall and Williams.

Are we talking about at VT or overall? That would yield a different result between jimmy Williams and jam chancellor. Jimmy was far superior in O&M.

Then you have the two impact candidates: Beamer and Gray. Neither make it on their play.

I would also nominate Tyrone Drakeford, first team AA. Drakeford and Hosley just miss the top 4. All three Fullers are next. Eric Green. willie Pile. Anthony Midget. Antone. Macho. Carpenter.

Frank Beamer is a great coach. But he will be the first one to tell you he wasnt the greatest DB in VT history.

its not just what they did in college, kendall would have to go on to nfl and do great things there. So not just in 2-3 years to unseat my rushmore :P

After another 2-3 years you can go ahead and reserve a spot for Kendall. Heck, let's put Mr. And Mrs. Fuller on it.

^i Strongly disagree
Frank Beamer (dont forget he played DB for us)
Torian Gray (Same as Beamer)
Kam Chancellor (major factor in winning a super bowl)
4th is kinda up in the air...maybe D-Hall, Eric Green, Keon Carpenter, Macho....Can make a case for a lot of people here

for mine i considered more than just their playing here at tech, i also considered what they did for the game of football and for VT after they left

I hope you're right. He deserves it. He inherited a really bad situation and then he's had some terrible luck with injuries and guys not qualifying.

Now if we're still in this position next year at this time, then I'll be all for making a change. But JJ deserves a fair shot.

Excellent column. I agree almost completely on all points. The main reason that VT isn't winning games right now is lack of talent. To put it bluntly, we need better players.

I think the three freshmen and Adam Smith have actually pulled their weight pretty well this season. All four have decent skill sets now and the ability to improve as they get more experience and, in the case of Smith and Emelogou, get healthier.

James Johnson signed a good class this year with Hudson, Bibbs and Lang. First and foremost, all three are reputed to be good shooters, which is something our program desperately needs right now. Plus he'll be adding Malik Mueller and Maurice Kirby to the mix next season as well.

I believe that we'll be better next year. Not "contending for an ACC championship and an NCAA berth" better, but better.

What makes you think Durkin probably redshirts and Ford presumably doesn't?

The most likely outcome right now is Leal starting and if anything (and I'm not advocating for this) I could see some limited packages put in place for Durkin (a la Tebow as a frosh) in a back-up role to Leal.

Say what you want about Durkin, but he is physically ready for D1 football.

We're these comments actually from real scouts or were they from pretend scouts?

Comments from pretend scouts are a dime a dozen (and worth less). Comments from real scouts are few and far between.

i dont know guys, we all remember when whitfield screwed up his throwing motion a couple of years ago. . .

If anything, I think Logan working out with George Whitfield will get him more exposure to NFL teams. Several of George's last few projects (Cam Newton among them) have been high draft picks, and teams are starting to pay more attention to what he does.

I didn't realize that Siberia had Internet service strong enough to upload photos.

Barnett has a right to decommit to VT. It's early and it's best for him to check out other schools. Vt is a great school and should have nothing to fear. Vt is still in his top 3 and Michael Barnett may end up signing with Vt next February. If not, there are great DE prospects leaning toward the hokies.

Can't get out to the grill to make my steaks.

Doing a google image search apparently a show called Fortysomething

Yep. I really hope he chooses VT also. Dude has a ton of talent and unlike Kiffin I'm pretty sure Loeffler knows how to utilize that talent.

He would be a great addition. USC was awful under Kiffin, so it is unfair to judge his performances.

This upcoming season is where we could really use a transfer. I'm all for this and I hope he chooses VT.
