Snowstorm inventory.
I got 4 doz pierogi, 2 lb kielbasa, 2 jars sauerkraut 3 lb onions and a bottle of good vinegar, 8 hot dogs, everything to make 4 qt of spaghetti Bolognese w/ meatballs, 8 chicken breasts, 4 half rack babybacks, 1lb of good lunchmeat type ham. 3 lb bacon, 2 doz eggs, 1lb of fresh roasted coffee, bread, milk, ingredients to make 3 qt of homemade roasted tomato basil bisque, assorted veggies and fruit and a side of salmon.
2 growlers of my beer about 3 doz assorted 750 ml bottles of good beer, about a 2 case of 12 oz bottles assorted, a full bar and about a case of wine.
I think I can make it.
Seriously, who has a 5 minute commute? I'm jealous.

# | Proposed NCAA rules changes for targeting and defensive substitutions The targeting rule change is fine, something I have argued for in a long time. Either a penalty occurred or did not. Removing the ejection but enforcing the penalty was just a BS face-saving measure when the officials got it wrong.
I don't feel strongly either way about the defensive substitution rule. I just find it hilarious that a team that snaps the ball too quickly can be assessed a delay of game penalty.

Rule change to the targeting penalty is a year too late IMO.
The defensive substitution doesn't make as much sense to me. There hasn't been any proved correlation (much less causation) between fast paced offenses and increased injuries on the defense or the offense. Emphasize conditioning over size to combat faster paced play (doesn't work at every position obviously). The way for defenses to combat a fast-paced offense is the get a stop on one play. One negative play can easily deride the entire offensive series, thus getting the defense's team the ball back faster, while making the opposing defense come back out on the field quickly after a short (one that takes little time) series.

I was just about to type that it hadn't started yet here in the southern Shenandoah Valley. Then I looked out the window to check and there was already a fine coating on the ground. And so it begins.
I have no problems with either of these changes.
If a review determines that no penalty occurred on a targeting foul, then of course there shouldn't be a 15 yard penalty on a play that had no penalty.
As for substitutions, fine by me. Everyone knows that teams try to prevent substitutions to wear down the defense. But that also makes them more susceptible to injuries (real or imagined - I won't go down that road). So to make it safer you actually have to out-execute and out-smart the defense, not just outpace them.
I will also most likely be going to work in the morning. Christiansburg here, we have lost the lawn already.

i work in staunton and live in stuarts draft. i was sitting at a stoplight five minutes from my sitter's house and it started. by the time i left the sitters 20 minutes later tracks were forming. ten minutes later untreated streets are completely covered. its now 45 min later and i'm guessing the grass will disappear within the hour.
and yes i will be attempting to get to work in the morning.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that Nosal came to us as a 255 pound TE who was converted to the OL. Loved the way that guy played - very tough, and never quit until the whistle blew.
Lanier was another TE we converted to the OL out of that 2007 Class. We also landed multi-year OL starters Dechristopher and Brooks that year.

I got 4 half racks. I'll fire up the smoker tomorrow in the snow storm and smoke 'em for a while then put them in the oven for a couple hours to finish them off.
Stout and bourbon in the snowstorm and ribs for dinner. The drippings will make a great sauce on potato. BBQ drippings on fries is a great tailgate food.
Damn, I wish there was a game on tomorrow...
