I would rank Grant Noel over Vick the Younger. His off the field antics tarnished him badly, and I can't forget the game against Miami where he through deep pick after deep pick.

More like a savory hand pie.
Think like an old style single serving pie you used to be able to buy at the market except with sauerkraut and onions or potato and cheese, etc.
You can put fruit in them and then cook them but most commonly they have robust flavored veggies.
Here's a pic before it's cooked.
Uncooked pierogi.
Dumplings aren't stuffed and are more like a biscuit.

Pretty sure Miami already has one of those set up...

Haha definitely. I don't think it will be run like the breds at all. Obviously I think it will be a pro VT program but I don't think it will be an anti-any school program.

And I like Nubinile's response below about Tyrod knowing VT and knowing what VT can offer as opposed to the breds just funneling talent to uva out of personal gain. Also guitarman's comment about Beamer/VT not letting the compliance thing become an issue regardless of what Tyord/7v7 do. All very good points.

"...WITH CHICKS! AND GUNS! AND FIRETRUCKS!!!"

Bachelor Party

I agree that things are a bit murky now. In principle, there's nothing wrong with the 7-on-7 programs and if it helps these kids stay out of trouble, hone their craft, and improve their professional prospects, more power to them. There are things that can go wrong in terms of the NCAA. Regardless of what Tyrod does, I fully trust Beamer and our compliance staff to keep everything above-board.

Cool idea. IIRC Beamer's jersey is retired, but not his number. I know there's a link to Hokiesports on this page that will resolve this completely, but for whatever reason, work has decided to block all sites on the VT domain today...

Yeah I agree, if the kids from this 7v7 don't all go to VT then we're good to go and much different from the Breds. My worry is if all these kids start coming to VT, people will start looking into things and labeling us. I agree completely though, it should be a program for the kids, not a program for VT (BUT PLEASE COME TO VT!).

I never thought I would say this, but if we're going to retire anyone's jersey, it should be Jimmy Williams. The guy was a First-Team UNANIMOUS All-American! He was only the fourth Unanimous All-American in the history of our football program, joining Jim Pyne, Corey Moore and Jake Grove; the other three already have their numbers hanging in the North Endzone.

I love Tyrod to death; I wore his #5 jersey for years. But I just don't think he's at that level.

I think Tyrod will at least refrain from broadcasting in an open letter that fans from particular schools can go perform an acrobatic reproductive action at a rolling donut and then promise to not allow a single player to attend certain universities.

Exactly. And I am 100% confident he is not going to tweet "Fuck UVA" to a high school kid either.

Class vs Trash

Don't think so. It was #25 which i am pretty sure Josh Oglesby wore at one point.

That said, I think it would be a really cool tradition to reserve #25 for outstanding cornerbacks. Coach was a CB here and we have a strong tradition at that position. Would be cool to "grant' that number to guys after they prove themselves to be worthy of it. Like last year it should have gone to Kyle. this year maybe it would sit on the shelf or go to Kendall of Facyson, depending on the "standards"

Which is the difference between Tyrod and the 'Breds. Tyrod is a former Hokie QB. Thats upfront. Tyrod could say go to VT they will treat you right. Which is different from the Breds have basically said which is we will not send players to VT. Even if it is in their own best interest.

Great to hear! Hope everyone pans out. Very interested to see what happens in men's soccer. That sport seems to be so chaotic on a yearly basis that its wide open for us to grab a couple top classes and swoop in for a Natty title. And we desperately need to continue the extremely positive momentum from the 2013 women's soccer season and keep pushing towards the future. The ACC is the elite women's soccer conference, and we're trending up like a bullet. Any season in the near future could potentially be a National Title season right now.

Very excited to see what will happen in that sport going forward.

Yeah but if this thing starts rolling and all these kids start coming to VT then people will say the same thing about us. "Tyrod just started that to get kids to go to VT. He doesn't have their best interests at heart." I mean Tyrod obviously has connections at VT so he'll be talking to VT for the kids, essentially doing what the breds are doing. I guess if he doesn't take money for them to sign up it will be a little different since the breds make them pay.

I don't know, the tone last week seemed very anti 7v7, not just anti Breds. I think this 7v7 thing is muddy waters don't get me wrong, but if it's the new trend in college football then sign me up.

Perhaps "transform" was a bit strong, but when thinking about some of those names up there - Smith, Beamer, Vick - you tend to think that each had a huge impact on VT's appearance and staying power on the national stage. Grove fits that mold as well.
