An individual's star rating or an individual class ranking doesn't matter in a vaccum, because some players end up being better and some don't. In the macro sense, though, getting higher rated platers, and lending higher ranked classes is better in the long term because of that micro understanding that they aren't all going to hit.
Teams that get higher rated players and end up with higher ranked classes year after year will be better able to handle when a handful of the VHT recruits don't pan out. The converse strategy of taking lower rated guys and hoping a bunch of them are much better than they are rated feels like it would have much less of a success rate.
Look on the bright side. We don't have to worry about people misspelling Nnadi for the next 4 years.

That's last year, the real story is what does each of those schools do in two to three years from that recruiting class when the class is actually contributing to play on the field.
No divisions.
Each team has 4 conference rivals they play every year.
9 in conference games required (play every non rival team every other year.)
Two Highest ranked teams play in ACC CG (or two best conference records.)
ESPN sent me an update through their app which clarifies it to say CBS gets 8 Thursday night games (I'm assuming weeks 2-9), and NFL Network gets 6 (weeks 10-16 except for Thanksgiving), plus a Saturday doubleheader in week 16.
But, the NFL Network games are still being produced by CBS. Which means Phil Simms every Thursday, and probably most Sundays. Boo.

It'll be tough to keep a lot of those 2015 guys in-state, once again unfortunately. Until we prove on the field we can compete with other top 25 schools again, it'll be tough to compete with them on the recruiting trail.
Not only is he a beast of a recruit he has a massive chip on his shoulder. Would have been great to see what he could do in Foster's D. No need to be bitter, just need to recruit Settle and Taylor that much harder.

If we're being honest with ourselves here BC, Pitt and SU have never been *that* good. The last time Syracuse was very good was literally almost two decades ago, Pitt closer to four. Even the one or two good years they had weren't that great. Also, in the post I responded to Louisville was in the South.
I understand what you're saying in theory, just in practice I look in being in a division with BC, Pitt, and f-ing Syracuse while losing Miami and GT and continuing to not have FSU and Clemson, and that's just a load of barf. That's a suck division with a suck schedule. Our home schedule is bad enough and has enough problems selling tickets as it is - go take GT and Miami off the regular schedule and see what happens.

You will Learn rankings don't mean much outside the top 5. Last year michigan had the 6th ranked class, how'd that work out. Notre Dame had the 4th ranked class.. Auburn had the 11th ranked class.

Agree on Austin Clark. Really good player. Settle was dominant when I watched him in person earlier this year. And I am falling all over myself if they get Ricky Deberry. I have not seen enough of the other guys to have an educated opinion yet.
ESPN is by far... BY FAR the worst recruiting site to use.
If you go by 247, and especially their composite, we brought in a pretty darn good overall class, despite today's setbacks
Everyone knows we're just going to recruit the top 20 tight ends in the country, and then convert them to positions of need as we see fit.
Because the 2014 class was so big, I'm guessing that means we won't have room for a very large class in 2015? Will we be able to address all our positions of need?
Wow... Three 4* LBs? That makes me really excited for the defense. We've had solid LB play, but I'm excited to see what stellar LB play does for our D side.

I think it depends, if you think about it this recruiting class was for the majority focused on the offensive side of the ball. Especially since we got a new OC, Oline and WR coach, we lacked the talent on offense to help keep us in games.
What makes you into a top 10 or even 15 recruiting class is when you can recruit both sides of the ball and bring in the top Oline and Dline commits. If you can't find people to block then those 5* players can only do so much
My priority list would be, in order, DT, LB, CB, WR, DE, TE, OL, S, QB, P/K, FB, RB. I see 1 QB and 1 RB next year due to current numbers at the position. Would take additional if they were elite prospects. I'm hoping for at least 5 along the DL, 3 WR, 4 between CB and S, 1-2 TEs, 2 LB, and 3 OL. That's about 21 total recruits
ESPN Sucks! They have us rated as the 31st 2014 class. REALLY. I love the skill position upgrade.
