That's what I'm hoping for too. If we can get some talented guys (that might not be UNC/Duke-level talent, but still) who want to play for a charismatic coach in the ACC, we might have a pretty good shot.

They are from the same conference as Florida Gulf Coast. Maybe they returned a lot of players to have gotten much better. I haven't bother looking up any of this so don't take it with much weight.

I shared this (saw it retweeted by Andy earlier this week) on another forum but here it is again. Just a general list of injuries for Maryland and man are they ever banged up.

I hope JJ is as much a players coach as Ive been hearing because more and more prospects are looking at schools with coaches like this. I would much rather play for a fun coach than a Boeheim or Huggins. I think the Hokies could potentially be looking at top half of the ACC in two or three years

Irony that a hokie designed the Hoos stadium. Put a vt in it too.

Western Carolina was 12-19 last year. 9-9 in the Southern Conference. They finished 245 in the RPI. Their best win came over #253 Wofford. They are one of the 7 teams we play that finished last year behind USC Upstate.

Temper your expectations. This team isn't worldbeaters, at least not yet.

Im not expecting us to have a winning record but I definitely like what JJ has brought so far. This team will be fun to watch in the future and hopefully this year

As HOKIE football fanatic as well as an architect, the expansion of Lane over the past
15 years has been of incredible interest to me. I have countless photos and even time lapses
of the webcam during construction. In the photo below, there's shots of the 'old scoreboard' construction
and the installation of the turf system (circa 2001). Lane's come a long way ~ Thanks Frank, Charles, and Jim!

I thought so - they are WAY ahead too- like 30+
I'm happy with 21 and counting though...
KEEP GOING!

Yup. Corrected myself, but thanks though. I am edjumacated.

uhhh - while we're correcting, it's grammar, not "grammer". Turkey leg for you, though!

EDIT: crap - didn't see the edit!

FSU is ahead of both UF and VT. UF is definitely fighting an uphill battle to get to a bowl.

Actually I saw something on ESPN the other day that had UF #1 and VT #2-
I saw it in a couple places. UF needs at least one upset to make a bowl.

Not that I am trying to be the grammer police, but my middle name is Forrest, (thanks dad), but its Forest. I just don't want to be associated with them. Turkey leg for you though.

Edit: Grammar. Can't even type apparently.

Side note: When UF fails to make a bowl game, does VT not take the #2 slot in the consecutive bowl streak behind that other school from Florida that I refuse to acknowledge

First thing I thought was "Hokies fans could sell out the stadium expansion if UF fans can sell out the swamp"

If we played Florida's schedule full of SEC schools and FSU, which also includes a couple night games.
