Turns out you were right, as seen in the video posted below with Shane Beamer.

The coaches held a colossal amount of the playbook out of the scrimmage. I may disagree with the decision, but I understand it.

I does make me feel a lot better about the state of the offense though. The team should be in a much better position vs Alabama with the whole playbook then it looked in the scrimmage without it.

I think it's over the top to say that Paul Johnson teaches kids to legally hurt other kids.

And I don't think Paul Johnson teaches his players to chop block. I just think it's going to happen more often with the frequency with which they cut block then with other offenses. Often times, the chop block occurs because DLinemen A hits Olinemen A, while Olinemen B cut blocks DLinemen A. It's such a gray area because Olinemen A might not even be attempting to touch the chopped player, but in the tackle box sometimes you get engaged with people you don't intend to.

I understand what your saying, but I don't fault Paul Johnson for teaching his kids to cut block. And I don't think that there is any evidence that he intentionally teaches his players to hurt others, that's a little much.

With ford throwing to them and Reid and Williams taking attention away behind a 5abulous blocking unit... Oh, and Sam Rogers swinging out of the backfield with his surprisingly soft hands... Who do we have locking down TE for the next few years? I know Lefty wants him some TE in his triangles.

I screen-capped this from the Hokies Football instagram. You can see how big this is in relation to the players from the edge of the practice field. Such a monster.

Not sure how much this affects the Hokies, but I didn't realize Shelton had moved on to the Ravens. I guess they desperately needed someone to step in as team chaplin once Ray Lewis well...

Maybe... evenings are going to be rough for me. Tuesdays at 7 would probably be best though.

I love Kyle Fuller, but I am worried that he will struggle with his transition to boundary. Boundary requires much more man and deep third coverage responsibilities, and Kyle struggled with those last season.

InterVarsity. awesome. I'm a SGL this year. ready for NSO

We've had some attrition but Kendall Fuller and Facyson are going to be locking it down at CB for a couple more years, with Riley there to back them up. The safety spots are going to be well stocked too, Frye, Shegog, Greene will be around for a few more years, and on top of them are guys like Fisher, Reavis, McMillian and Harrison coming in Spring/Fall 2014.

I could probably make that time work any weekday.

Also of note for the thread update-Lammont Simmons is not looking at Tech any longer. Looks like he has a new top 5 that does not include the hokies. GT is the most likely destination. I wonder if we decided to look a different direction after the Stroman commitment. I'm surprised considering the loss of manning and Tookes not to mention so many other players on the roster.

ACC has 50 million reasons not to hate Maryland too much, plus bringing in Louisville with one of the biggest (and very successful) athletic departments in the country is one hell of a consolation prize.

That's a shame for whoever the head coach is in 2015.

Just for the sake of comparison, here's UVA:

2014: UCLA, BYU, FSU
2015: UCLA, Boise State, Auburn, Notre Dame
2016: Oregon
2017: Stanford, Boise State
2018: Stanford
2019: BYU, FSU
2020: BYU, Clemson

2015 looks difficult, I guess London thinks the young pups will be ready by then.
