I knew I should have picked Arkansas...my USC roommates convinced me over my gut feelings...

on rotations? I know were moving some guys around but we'll need them getting a good bit of down time right?

Does VT still have that old GT practice jersey that Sean Glennon had to wear the last time he played GT in the ATL?

I'd love to see LT trucking a GT inside LB while wearing that jersey.

The picks are against the spread, Oklahoma State won outright, but didn't cover the 21.5 points they were favored by.

I should've been 3-3 (still not good).
Correct: Arkansas, Oregon, OK St
Wrong: WV, ASU, Bama

Thanks!

I also like Oglesby's power game against a 3-4. JO should get more than his average number of touches this game, especially if our offense is going to be run heavy against GT (which I expect).

I'd like to see LT truck an inside linebacker out of his cleats.

Charlottesville, Virginia is Paris, France and the coach up there is Mike London, that's who it was directed at.

And I definitely can't argue with your numbers, however I couldn't help but to get excited when I heard Worilds' introduction to then think he along with Tapp could be the next generation of Hokie d-lineman in the NFL.

That video clip made my monday morning so much better...

French: never thought about the recruiting impacts like that before, good point (sucks, but good point)

If that's true it makes me feel a little better. Both from why we didn't perform too well at Duke and the extra prep time for GT is always a good thing.

The way Coach Foster plays it, it doesn't really matter if GT knows that JR Collins is playing tackle, or if Kyle Fuller is playing whip.

He'll still try to disguise the coverages so that Tevin Washington doesn't have a clue who has got who. (The exception being the D Tackles. They've always got to lock down the dive play.) If the Hokies can get inside Washington's head and blow him up a couple times, and force a turnover here and there, they'll be on their way to getting this one.

Offensively, VT is going to have to put this one on David Wilson's shoulders.

Looked really shoddy for Bama and their kicker really sucked too. They did not deserve to win, but neither did LSU.

Trust his blockers more and follow their lead. Learn to time the burst of speed and when to push the power down.

Not sure if just the scout team did this but he said (from Andy Bitter's post):

Shaw's preparation went back to the Duke week. He said they watched "double film" that week. "We would come out here before practice and run Duke’s offense and run a little Georgia Tech offense," he said. "In meetings we would split it half and half."

Maybe that's why the team seemed not completely into the Duke game. They had already started preparing for Georgia Tech.

I guess that was directed at me. Please remember that I have always said that Foster doesn't put defensive FRONT SEVEN starters into the NFL. Here are the numbers.

This season, James Anderson was the only front seven Hokie alumni to be an opening day starter in an NFL front 7. Cody Grimm is a safety.

Darryl Tapp and Jason Worilds have each starterd one game due to injuries, with Worilds starting due to an injury to Lamar Woodley. Neither would be considered a "solid starter" on the defensive line. Both are playing different positions in the NFL (Tapp as a nickle DT, and Worilds as an OLB)

Number of 5 star defensive line recruits for VT since Cornell Brown: 0
Number of 4 star DL recruits since Nathanial Adibi: 7: (Worilds, Lewis, Friday, Acree, McCray, Marshall, Harley)

Number of starts made by a Hokie defensive tackle in the NFL since 1996: 2 (both by Jonathan Lewis)

Since the switch from the wide tackle six to the gap defense, only two hokie DL have started games in the NFL (Tapp and Lewis.) Xavier Adibi hass been a "bit" player at best.

I love the team. I want them to win. But, if you don't think that the above information is used against the Hokies in recruiting to a negative impact, you need to ease off the bourbon.

If Clemson and VT both win out then it will be a top 10 matchup in the ACCCG! Who knows how high each team would be.

While UVA has presented a much tougher challenge this year than most thought, and certainly is looking good into the future, I don't expect 'em to walk into Doak Campbell and come out unscathed, unless the FSU team that played Wake Forest shows up. They might be dbags, but they got talent and depth out the wazoo.

Duke? We better. Tech? Ooof, it's a rough one. Still gotta give Tech the edge for sure, of course. But hey guys, there's no way that you'll lose to UNC. I mean, come on now.

I'm just more pissed we have the losses we do. We were- are- better than Southern Miss, UNC, NC State- but it's the "W" that matters most in the end.

Anyway, you guys are in Charlotte no worries. Ooo-rah!
