Well the thing that kills me is, aren't we Virginia Tech?? Special teams are what we are known for! Beamer Ball! Why didn't we have a good punter already set up for the season instead of thinking of using a WR as one? Seriously, why don't we have a great punter from the region recruited every 2 yrs? Having a starting punter kick a 30 yarder (which set up ECU's only TD) is unacceptable for a program like Tech's. That's what bothers me...

I guess that would be cool, can't really turn down Texas i guess. The huge pro is that adding an elite school like Texas would add some respectability to the ACC, the newest ESPN conference power rankings have the ACC ranked 5th. So i'd say take them ACC if it would work. HOWEVER, it's the Atlantic Coast Conference and how does Texas fit into that?? It doesn't make any sense. They'd be the only team anywhere near that region in the conference and i don't see them wanted to travel anywhere from Boston to Miami everyother week. Maybe if Texas Tech and/or Texas A&M came with them that would soften it a bit logistically. Also not a fan of their longhorn network, but i guess ESPN has tv rights for that and ACC so legally it works, still not a fan...

I totally agree that some great catches have been made that corrected a misplaced ball by LT3, i probably should've posted that earlier. I've just been disturbed and surprised by the blatant misses like Davis had last saturday (although he did get a reception a play later or so that pretty much made up for it). If it hits both hands or the chest it has to be a completion at this level, especially with the caliber of receivers this year! I fairly confident that with more practices and games under their belts that this will fade away in the next 2 games.

It's also possible I was just trying to make myself feel better about LT3's season by thinking that with 4 of those being caught that his numbers could have been pretty good, instead of mediocre:
ECU Actual: 8 of 20, 91 yards, 1 INT
Could have been: 12 of 20, 150, 1 TD, 1 INT (very much on the fly here)

Some football fans lament the offseason. But not PEE-DEE; the precious months between November and August (because let’s face it, the season never extends past November in Greenville) are the best for DVD hawking.

PEE-DEE’s cousin in Beijing PEI-WEI sends him a suitcase of the beauties every month and he is set. In fact, if PEE-DEE can sell the last of his titles he may be able to broker a deal with Nike to release a Pro-Combat Air Raid Jersey; oh wait that is for “elite” programs only.

How would celebrate a victory late on Saturday night?

If your name is Howl and you are a real Red Wolf, you would march over to the library and update your MySpace page. Among his 13,000 friends are every ASU student and Tom. He wanted to find out more about this whole Facebook thing and that other Twitter deal, but for some reason his Netscape wouldn't pull up his Lycos search. He even dialed up three different times!

Go Hokies!

We all knew that LT3 was going to take some time to grow into his new starter role. But it is going to take some time for every receiver to get used to his passes in game situations. They will figure it out, but it does take time, and they will learn to work together under different pressure situations.
I don't think it is time to hit the panic button. In years past we would have found a way to lose that ECU game. We overcame some really bad officiating and a developing offense and came out of Greenville with a 'W'.
Let's Go Hokies!!

I agree that the pass wasn't perfect, but you can't have a pass go through your hands and hit your shoulder pad. Maybe a player like Coles or Fuller can but not Coale. And the defender had little to do with that pass other than the ball was a little closer to him. The ball was off of Coale's pad before the defender touched him.

LT3 threw that ball to the wrong shoulder, the one closest to the defender.

Real quick:

Coale is running a post to the middle of the end zone over top of Drager who's running an in. The ball should be thrown past the receiver/defender as the receiver breaks on the post.

It looks like it's going where it should.

It's not. Coale has to try to bring his arms and hands back across his body to make the catch and the defender is able to make the play.

Look at all the room towards the goalposts.

That's not to say it's all LT3's fault. It's a team effort, the timing needs to be there. Tyrod had the luxury of working with these guys, and within the offense for years. That type of chemistry doesn't develop overnight, but it will get there.

Hey guys, how on earth have I just stumbled upon this site this season? This site is sick.

Thank you Sir, and welcome to the party!

Predicting great headlines for the conference on Sunday

I wonder how many of the drops would be attributable to LT3 zipping the pass in when it might be more catchable if he took just a little off of it. Admittably, I haven't really looked too closely at that, so I'm speculating. Also, like LT3 said (jokingly) at the press conference after ASU....It's their job to catch it...so suck it up!

I knew real wolves lifted their legs to pee but mascot wolves do too???

Clemson, Miami, and FSU are perennial underachievers. Man, the ACC sucks at football. I hope I'm wrong about these picks and statements...

Solid point StL but I fully understand and agree with Helo. This receiving corps is supposed to make the tough catches -they are experienced and every one of them understands they are needed in Logan's development. However, the drops are horrible. Davis has had 2 big, no huge, ones. Boykin has had some as well. Danny Coale gets a lot of credit among the fanbase but his drop in the end zone last week was just plain bad. There is no excuse for a player of his caliber letting the ball go through his hands and hitting his shoulder pad. This is something that I hope gets fixed at some point.

ACC Solidarity this week

LSU - this teams playing for the ship this year
Clemson - i'm fairly confident I'll be wrong about this one
Maryland - think this will be a great game, need a name for it though
Tennessee to win - UPSET CITY BABY
Miami - Really whoever throws less interceptions will win
Free Shoes U - ACC! ACC! ACC!

Don't you think that deep inside, Frank was coveting a punter like the ECU guy? He got off some really booming kicks.

Because Im going to pick many schools I loathe

LSU -- I slept on that D against Oregon. MSU may cling on somewhat but I see LSU by at least 7
Auburn -- Clemson stumbled against Wofford and Troy. That Defense is lackluster and the Great Pumpkin isnt proven
UMD -- as one puts it "The Classless Bowl". I like how well the spread worked against daU. It'll be an F Bomb party.
Tenn -- I just want the points.
tOSU -- woof. Even with 4 out I think the talent goes to Ohio St. I want the W for the ACC but know better.
FSU -- Its in Doak. This is the only reason ill give them the advantage. Get ready for the bandwagon/ESPN boner.

BOTW: Bells Oktoberfest. Im finishing up my 6'er of Shiner but its as tasteless as these teams.

And I hope I go 0 for 6.
